Another City ‘At the Brink of Disaster’
After Defunding Police

Original Article

Gee, who could have guessed that defunding the police in your city would cause problems? Well, residents of Austin, Texas, have discovered just that the hard way. The city has been plagued by police staffing shortages and longer 911-call response times since the Austin City Council voted to defund the police department in 2020. Last week, the shortages resulted in a section of the city being completely without any police officers for a few hours. "Previous councils and leadership have actively worked against our officers and department, which has now put us in a free-falling staffing crisis,"

Austin has long been the liberal Mecca of Texas and is now more populous than San Francisco, party because of so many fleeing the high cost of living and other ills of urban California. They sell their grossly overpriced homes in the Bay Area to take advantage of the nicer, more moderately priced homes in Austin and its many suburbs. Unfortunately, most have not left their leftist politics at the state line.

I live in Austin (yes, there are a few conservatives stuck here), and it is worse than this implies. In Austin, our city council normally goes from lie-beral to socialist to communist to worse. When they changed it from all at-large to districts, we finally got a conservative on the council (from my part of town). But she didn't last very long. She was totally shut out and they wouldn't work with her on anything. So she resigned before her term was up. Then, to make it worse, we have a Soros-style DA. Super soft on crime and very anti-police. He is running for re-election right now, and lying through his teeth in every commercial. He actually has a Demon-Rat opponent that is running on our current DA being too lie-beral!!! Anything would have to be better!!! But I'm not expecting things to get any better. And as soon as my husband completes a couple of projects, we are out of here faster than you can blink!!!

Politicians often test the wind, so to speak, and follow which way it blows to save their skin. 2020 was the George Floyd riots and calls for defunding the police, and since the best and brightest are not our political leaders they made dumb expedient choices, not what is right.

People who work in Austin are flooding the nearby communities and commuting to work because there is NO affordable housing in Austin, and they like the small town life. The problem is that the influx of population coming into the the San Antonio/Austin area begins to infest the local towns with their liberal ideas as the little towns surrounding Austin are taken over and infested with ideas and lifestyles that are foreign to the towns they want to live in. Drag queen shows, head shops posing as CBD enterprises, woketards creating discord in local politics and disrespect for the local cultural atmosphere they wanted to live in gets trounced underfoot of their liberal values and mores. Cheap houses are springing up fast, and the nice homes that are available winnows down into scarcity so thee are not enough really nice homes anymore--they are bought up and charging exhorbitant rents. There are conservatives still in abundance, but the small turninging into BIG cities are about ot be over run by radicals in a very short time.

Austin has become the itchy scab on the butt of Texas but real Texans can truthfully say that most of the people who live there are Leftist Loon imports from someplace else. Not for a baseball game, not for anything. Eight years ago when I was visiting my terminally ill best friend at Hermann Hospital in Houston, it was bad enough then. I can't imagine what it's like now. Lived there in the early/mid eighties, that city was long gone eight years ago.

Corporate and government “addiction” to migration is damaging the productivity that raises personal incomes and overall national wealth, say economists cited in a report Monday by the Wall Street Journal. “Increased reliance on low-skilled imported labor can lead to weaker productivity growth, which ultimately determines how fast economies can expand,” the newspaper wrote on March 4. The article cited two dairy farmers in Wisconsin. One farmer favors cheap labor supplied by the government’s unofficial illegal migrant program. The second farmer, however, invested in robot cow-milking devices:
