German ‘Pacifist’ Woman Captured by
Hamas Terrorists at Music Festival Massacre
Might Be Alive in Gaza, Claims Mother

The mother of a German woman, who was paraded half-naked in the back of a terrorist pickup truck after being captured from the scene of a Hamas massacre at a music festival in Southern Israel, has claimed to have reason to believe that her daughter is still alive in Gaza. [snip] Despite initial rumours from pro-Palestinian sources claiming that Shani was an Israeli soldier, her aunt said that Shani was, in fact, a peace campaigner and a conscientious objector. Shani, her aunt told Der Spiegel, refused to enter into the mandatory military service in Israel because of her belief in pacifism...

Comments:

Shani should be well aware of the applicable expression her fellow Germans use for such a scenario. Seriously, though, how many will still refuse - even after this - to wake up to the realities of the world in which we live?

I've never been able to grasp the kind of denial of reality that it takes to claim that you are a pacifist. Very, very, VERY few of those who claim it are actually willing to act upon it. There were two Conscientious Objectors in WW2 who joined the 110st Airborne, dropped in Normandy. They were medics, and set up a med station in a small church. They wouldn't fight, but they didn't shirk their duties. They treated both US and German casualties, and ordered German wounded to leave their weapons outside. One walking wounded German Sgt refused and was pushed outside until he left his weapon. I have visited the church, and there are still many bloodstains on the wooden pews, and a hole in the interior ceiling where a mortar bomb dropped through, cracking floor stones.....and did not explode, was carried outside....smoking. But, 99.999% of these "pacifists" wouldn't actually go to a combat zone with bullets and bombs flying and risk it all to prove their commitment. Perhaps this woman would do it, but I doubt it. Most are all talk. Here is one of them. Genuine heroes. https://www.sonomanews.com/article/news/remembering-kenneth-moore-sonomas-d-day-hero/

#7 - Thank you for the link to the article on Kenneth Moore. A true American story of a great man who stood up for peace and humanity in the midst of war. The interesting twist, he wasn't a pacifist; he didn't request being a medic, it was his assignment by the Army. #8 - Great quote that lays it out plain. I remember the peaceniks of the Vietnam War era. The peace symbol was everywhere, even on products, just like the "pride rainbow" is today. However, the images and the message out of Vietnam were controlled by the big three networks. That is not the case today with cell phones in the hands of every witness, and even some victims. I think it is going to be harder for the powers-that-be to sell the pacifist philosophy to a public already on the edge from a crumbling economy overseen by a corrupt regime.

Lego has abandoned plans to make its famous bricks from recycled plastic bottles, saying that the manufacturing process would be more polluting than the current production of oil-based bricks. [snip] The toymaker has pledged to use only sustainable materials in its products by 2032 and, two years ago, unveiled a prototype brick made from recycled PET. The plastic was sourced from bottles that are typically used for water or soda. Since then, however, Lego has found that making bricks from the recycled material would require investing in new equipment and involve more steps, which would ultimately lead to more planet-heating pollution than the status quo...
