Washington—Doggie doo in the White House? One of President Joe Biden’s dogs apparently deposited the pile of poo in the hallway outside the Diplomatic Reception Room, just off the South Lawn, on Wednesday. Reporters accompanying Jill Biden on a trip to California spotted the brown stuff on the red-carpeted hallway as they waited just inside the mansion to be escorted to the first lady’s motorcade. It was unclear which pooch—Major or Champ—dropped the poo. Earlier this week, Major, the younger dog, was involved in his second biting incident in March. Michael LaRosa, a spokesperson for Jill Biden,

Excrement on the White House carpets while Doctor Jill jets off on a junket; a lovely metaphor for the thieves that stole the election. But why blame the dog? Could easily have been Boy Joey, who might no longer be fully housebroken.

I believe Champ is 14 years old and Biden observed that the dog doesn't move as well as he used to. Older dogs will lose bowel or bladder control and "go" inside, even if they were potty trained for many years. Between Major's biting and now this, the dogs should be kept in the residence side. Remember that Ronald Reagan wouldn't enter the Oval Office without a neck tie. It is still the people's house and should be treated that way.

We've had several Shepherds (and a few other large breeds in addition).. They never had mistakes in the house, except one who got to a very senior age and had DM (degenerative myelopathy) and after a time, they do lose control, especially of BM function. Our last Shepherd went through this, and she was very aware of having "made a mistake." They have dignity, and mistakes cause them distress. My sense is that these dogs are uncomfortable, uneasy, unhappy, especially Champ who is too old to be forced into dramatically foreign, stressful environments. He probably doesn't see very well, his hearing may be going, and he is weak. Now Major, he is uneasy too, lots of people around, and he must sense that Champ is vulnerable and .just maybe senses that he needs to protect his pack leader (Good boy, Major!) If he wanted to literally take a chunk out of someone, he would. The nip was a warning. another warning. Better figure out what is troubling this dog, for everyone's sake.

Not an April fool’s joke, but it might as well be. Two media reports [Here and Here] about former VP Mike Pence considering a potential run for President in 2024 present the most laughable political hypothetical in recent memory. Particularly, and specifically, because even President Trump would likely not include Pence in a short list of people for endorsement.“WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump recently rattled off the names of those he viewed as future leaders of the Republican Party, including Sens. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz along with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Conspicuously absent from the list: Mike Pence.

Cities in parts of the U.S. that slashed their police department funding last year, in part as a result of police-involved shootings, have seen an uptick in certain crimes over the past year, according to data analyzed by Fox News. Cities such as Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas, have shifted funds from police departments to social services programs. Such cuts have led some departments to lay off officers, cancel recruiting classes or retreat from hiring goals.
