Speaker Mike Johnson finds himself entangled in controversy once more, as past incidents involving his ‘adopted’ son resurface amidst legislative tumult.
Last week, the House of Representatives, under Johnson’s leadership and his comrades, passed two “America last” legislations.
Firstly, the House approved an extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a measure initially enacted following the September 11, 2001, attacks, in a 273 to 147 vote.

Yes #1 and 2. It also explains why Deep State and Dems assist the compromised Republicans to rise up the ranks to leadership. This is how and why the GOP has become and functions as merely controlled opposition.

I am sick of Johnson, who previously blamed whites for his son's behavior. Mr. Johnson, I have nothing to do with your son and his marijuana, porn, or brass knuckles, and I a very much hope you are removed from the Speakership.

Not to necessarily defend MIke Johnson, but the children of the rich and elite do just as many stupid things, if not more, than normal middle class people. They can just afford better lawyers to cover up and get their offsprings illegal dalliances kept off the record and out of the limelight. Look at Hunter Biden, Paul Pelosi Jr, pretty much any Kennedy offspring. From Rich kids to politicians adult "kids", they are all sheltered from the criminal spotlight and criminal charges that the general public must endure.

all blame for the johnson family antics--all failures to parent, or the childrens' refusals grow up and fly right,
belong to mr johnson, not to the rest of america.
his blaming of others is the stuff of loser damnocrats-of which he clearly is a member.

Let's be clear, don't let the media twist the porn story. It's related to Johnson and his son having Covenant Eyes on their devices, which makes unmonitored porn use impossible.

While the Pubs were busy running McCarthy out on a rail (however needed) did they NOT bother to interview the replacement? An important step, seeing how they're gearing up to repeat this fiasco. Again, I question my herd, as I find the hardest part of being a Republican - is Republicans.

Well, I guess I'm just missing the point here. What scandal? What controversies?
Apparently, everything described had already been publicly exposed.
So, Johnson and his wife performed a Christian act by adopting a young black male teen in an attempt to support and guide him in the continuance of his life. After said teen, name James I believe, became an adult, he unfortunately moved on to a life of crime anyway. End of story as far as I can tell.
And, I think the 'porn monitoring' is a Christian covenant type of thing...

Adult "children" do adult things. Some are responsible and lead normal lives that you never hear anything about. Others, do foolish things and get into trouble that sometimes make the headlines. While everyone can't wait to point fingers at the parents of these irresponsible adults, 99.99% of the time the parents have nothing to do with the idiotic actions of their adult offspring. No matter how hard some parents try to be a positive influence on their children, at any age, people will ultimately make their own choices. Unfortunately for Mike Johnson, one adult "child" chooses to continue to make poor choices. This is every parents nightmare. If you are n the public's eye, it is even worse a you are blamed for something you had nothing to do with.

Numbers 9 and 12 are correct.
Anyone who calls himself a Christian needs to let the "p*** monitoring" story die its necessary death.
The world could do a lot worse than Christian dads and Christian sons trying to hold one another accountable in guarding their hearts and eyes.
Seriously, let it go.

Gateway Pundit destroys its credibility with garbage and misleading headlines like this. I agree with other posters that Johnson has been a horrible disappointment and needs to go—and with other posters that the porn storyline is an outrageous and defamatory lie.

Like I've said before: they have the FBI track the dirt, till it's useful, then they turn the screws. If there's no dirt worthy of control, they manufacture child porn and slip it onto your computer for them to "find".
You must have nerves of steel to be a servant of the People, rather than an elected politician.

Has this so-called journalist been paying attention since the '70s? Does he not know how many parents over fifty years old are called upon to take custody of their grandchildren? As a lawyer in a west-coast big city, I have witnessed the heartbreak of many parents whose teenaged and adult children got into criminal activity. Many times, I went into the jail to get the young parents to set up a custody arrangement.
Nobody can control the actions of their adult sons and daughters. Jim Hoft, get rid of the contempt for these middle-aged people who are trying to get help for their troubled sons and daughters.

Oh please to the people who are looking the other way with Mike Johnson, he is an adult too. I have heard several comments thanking Matt Gaetz for this problem. Mike Johnson is no different than Kevin McCarthy in having some kind of backbone to stop all of this ridiculous spending. On other countries? I blame it on all of the so-called Republicans who voted for this mess. I could not believe when I saw Glenn Grothman's name. He runs around in Wisconsin claiming to be a conservative and then spends very, very liberally with taxpayer's money. I didn't know my monies had to support other countries budgets.
Sorry but if Mike Johnson knew his family member's had any kind of "bribe" material the Democrats could use against him, he should have declined the speaker position. Think of America not just yourself. . .

Since all of this information was known before the vote for speaker, it was useful blackmail material. It appears to have been utilized recently. It was my first suspicion when some dems went along with this choice for speaker.
In all likelihood 95% of our representatives were "helped" into office because they have a knob that can be turned when needed, by those who "helped" them into office. The exceptions had notoriety on their own, and didn't need their help. (Clay Higgins and Rand Paul come to mind)
(In that photo I see a naive young couple trying to make a difference in the life of a 16 year old boy, who had most of his life choices well set already.)

Which votes would have gone the other way with McCarthy as Speaker? The republican circular firing squad continues to disappoint.

It appears his usefulness might be done. Time to blast him out and go with Hakkem. A few more Rep reps skate, and all of a sudden a law gets passed to make DJT ineligible to run for office. And take away his his security too, so some nutjob can do him and his family harm.
It's hard to see the big picture while in the middle of a storm, but make no mistake. That is where we are!
