The integrity of the election process in Lorain County, Ohio has come into question after a polling place manager was captured on surveillance footage transporting blank provisional ballots into a local bar. The Lorain County Board of Elections, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), and the Ohio Secretary of State have launched a full investigation into the incident, Cleveland19 reported. The video from the MAHD House Bar & Grille, which has since gone viral, clearly shows the poll manager entering with bags and placing them inside a booth, only to leave them unattended while he enjoyed a meal.

CNN also ran footage on election day of a Ballot Drop box in Cuyhuga county, that captured someone with an entire armload of ballots stuffing them into the drop box. The CNN Reporter jokingly asked "Are those for Reagan or Carter?" The perp said "Carter, definitely Carter." No word of any prosecution of that...

This is an unfortunate situation not only for Mr. Provenza (giving him the benefit of the doubt that his intentions were honorable and that he was within sight of the ballot bags) but also for Lorain County, Ohio and the overall integrity of this country’s voting process. Without question, there needs to be more security in the voting process so for this specific comment, will restrict the perspective to a humane perspective. The news account reveals that Mr. Provenza was a former Law Director of the city of Lorain and incarcerated for a drunken driving offense and parole violation; further, negligence as an attorney. There has been a centuries-long debate whether alcoholism is a disease or a serious behavioral problem with the reality being it is a devastating condition in terms of personal body abuse and ripple effect on family, friends, career, and society. Human compassion can reach a point of exasperation and disgust in dealing with alcoholics. Some alcoholics make attempts at sobriety but may never reach that point in spite of repeated efforts and good intentions. Thankfully, there are some alcoholics who are able to overcome the addiction and lead lives of sobriety that is to be commended. Not knowing anything about the personal life of Mr. Provenza, it is not known if he may be in a situation of continuing effort at sobriety, financially in need, suffering from possible loss of family and children through divorce or alienation, an irresponsible individual, or made a most unfortunate decision in not staying the booth with the ballot bags to enjoy a quiet meal while keeping watch on the ballot bags. Previously, having seen one photograph of him at the bar, it appears the booths are not far behind the bar and readily visible IF he was paying attention to the bags while having his meal at the bar. To his credit, whether his car was in need of repair or he was mindful of a possible restriction in driving, he was waiting for transportation to take him home. As for why poll workers may be permitted to take ballot bags to their residences the night before an election, according to an Ohio website, Ohio makes the allowance due to the fact that poll workers are to be in place at polling sites on Election Day by 5:30 AM. For employees of the Board of Elections who may reside some distance away from the geographic location of the Board of Elections and closer to the polling site for which they are responsible for delivering the ballot bags, it is a courtesy and suspected a much appreciated courtesy considering elections held in November during what may be a bitterly cold and/or heavy snow season. For Mr. Provenza and all of humanity: “A Christian is never in a state of completion but always in a process of becoming.” ~ Pastor-Theologian, Martin Luther As an aside, this household stands firm as Republicans even though not pleased with the repeated weaknesses and failures of many Republican politicians—especially in the United States Congress.

RE: Mr. Provenza and the potential for Alcoholism...his drinking has been an issue for at least a dozen years, cost him nearly as much as it can, Job, status, jail time...but he still keeps getting "Positions of responsibility" with the local Govt. Lorain is just a 1Beer drive away from Akron, the Birthplace of AA, some of AA's earliest/founding members were from Lorain, and Lorain has numerous AA meetings every day...as well as an AA clubhouse only a Block or so from this Bar. His probation violation charge came from....The day he was released from Jail, he went right across the street to a Bar and ordered a drink, within minutes of being told exactly what his probation requirements were/are..Stuffing the bags full of blank ballots into black garbage bags? He claims it was to Protect them from the weather, but, he was waiting for the rideshare indoors, and the weather outside was clear/dry.

This is not a big deal. I was a polling place Presiding Judge in Ohio. We always picked up the ballot bags the day before. The bags are sealed and placed inside a second bag which is allowed to be opened. The second bag contains the names and phone numbers of our workers, who we must contact to confirm they will be working on election day. The ballot bag remains sealed until there is a worker of both parties present at the polling place. It is then opened and preparations to open the polling location at 6 commence. Upon conclusion of voting, the doors are locked and all ballots are secured in the original ballot bag and a seal is placed on it, in the presence of all the workers and after the serial number of the seal is recorded on a form placed in the bag prior to sealing. The bags are then returned to the county board of elections.

The Make America Great Again Inc. Trump super PAC has built a Biden grocery store website where you get to pick your items, and then it tells you what the final bill would have been under Trump. Then it shocks the pants off you with what it now costs after three years plus of Bidenflation. It's funny and sad at the same time; it's funny because it mocks Biden and his failed policies, but it's sad because those policies have hurt regular Americans. I stopped by Biden-Mart.com and was greeted with the message: Putting food on the table has become harder than ever thanks to "Bidenomics."

The White House moved Sunday to make public its best wishes for Christians in the wake of an earlier furore arising from President Joe Biden embracing Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility.” A statement from the White House was issued to that effect, saying the power of Christ’s Resurrection is honored in the observance of Easter: Jill and I send our warmest wishes to Christians around the world celebrating Easter Sunday. Easter reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection. As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities.

Livermore, Calif. — Most fast food workers in California will be paid at least $20 an hour beginning Monday when a new law is scheduled to kick in giving more financial security to an historically low-paying profession while threatening to raise prices in a state already known for its high cost of living. Democrats in the state Legislature passed the law last year in part as an acknowledgement that many of the more than 500,000 people who work in fast food restaurants are not teenagers earning some spending money, but adults working to support their families. That includes immigrants like Ingrid Vilorio, who said she started working at a McDonald’s shortly

There are few more joyous places for a Christian at Easter than northern Europe's tallest and largest Gothic cathedral in the city of Cologne.[SNIP] Perhaps we should not be surprised. In Britain, Windsor Castle hosted its first Iftar last week, with permission from King Charles, the Supreme Governor of the Church of England. Guests feasted on coconut milk and dates in the grounds before a private tour of the State apartments. Westminster Abbey, meanwhile – a Christian site for over 1,000 years – flew the national flag of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with the Muslim crescent and star, to mark 'Pakistan Day'.
