The newly installed chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) is already backing down from his pledge to spend “every day” of 2024 to elect presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump as president again to instead spend most of Tuesday trying to save the embattled House Speaker Mike Johnson from justice, a report from Politico Playbook on Wednesday shows.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), an actual conservative and actual Republican, has been making moves against Johnson for his various betrayals in recent weeks including passing a bloated government funding plan that gave Democrats everything they wanted, casting the deciding vote for continuing warrantless surveillance of American citizens

What is wrong with these people? They talk big to get into their positions, then after a month or so they turn Uniparty or worse. Very discouraging.

The timing for dumping Johnson is dead wrong. We will end up with Hakeem Jeffries. Bye bye Trunp. I cannot believe that the emotional types who are out to get Johnson are so ignorant of the big picture. You can bet that the Dems and fake Republicans are all for getting him out now.
Ignorance can be fixed. Stupid is forever.

Why would I want party unity with Johnson RIno's? I am very certain I would not. No one has explained WHY Johnson cannot be replaced. He can. There are other Republicans willing to take his place. And if that takes shutting the House down for the rest of the year, that would be a major win for conservatives, because there is not going to be a single bill passed by this House that a conservative would support. If you are unwilling to replace in your face traitors, whom would you ever replace, or when would you ever fight? I support MTG's move to vacate the Speaker chair.

I don't trust Johnson, but at this point we need to STOP drilling holes in the bottom of the lifeboat to "let the water out".
Damned idiots.

At this point I'm Rhett Butler; I don't give a dam*. I've been voting Republican since my protest vote against Clinton's second term. The only votes I've cast that have been worthy are those for Donald J. Trump. I'm tired of the bait-and-switch. I don't know if Johnson was damaged goods before the Speakership, or he was weak and sold out after attaining power. It doesn't really matter. Whether we keep Johnson or get rid of him, the Democrats control the House anyway.

It is so fashionable to toss out 'RINO' this, and Uniparty that, while being anti-Republican in general, as if the 2024 electorate is looking for MTG's purity choice to follow, as if she is some conservative Ayatolla. Even Trump took some bashing from otherwise rabid supporters, when he came out against AZ's century old abortion ban. He has also by his support for Johnson. To use MTG as a litmus test of GOP purity is beyond foolish. Trump will seriously need a GOP majority in both houses of Congress to be most effective, in transforming his executive orders into legislation that he can sign into public law. I don't recall Johnson campaigning for the Speaker position; it appeared that he was drafted by his peers, once McCarthy was run off.

#6, Just because he came out of nowhere and did not actively campaign for Speaker does not make him sinless. You have to admit his ascension to the Speakership was unorthodox to say the least. Then there is the quick confirmation. What was up with that? Back then, I knew that was not a good sign.
Frankly, the rot is so deep in the Republican Party that I am neither surprised or devastated by Johnson’s betrayal. It is standard operating procedure for our people to disappoint and betray the country. What is puzzling is the why. Does no one hold allegiance to this country and actually want to do right by her? This is not rocket science. You do not make deals that benefit the enemy when it is clear that they mean to destroy our way of life. Is there nothing sacred? I believe the country is worth saving but it will not be done by the Mike Johnson’s of this world. Clearly, he lacks courage and the insight to lead a three car parade. Just as you do not negotiate with terrorist, you do not negotiate with this democrat party. They have crossed the Rubicon and placed themselves as the enemy of the American people. Republicans did not do that. It was their choice and anyone who wants to give them the benefit of the doubt is a fool. You cannot negotiate with democrats because they are not good faith partners. The rub is the fact that foolish Republicans are willing to trust the untrustworthy with our very existence as a Constitutional Republic. Mike Johnson is a chump, a fool, and a coward. When we need strong righteous leadership, we got complete compitulation. He is not now or will ever be ready for prime time. He is just too weak.

God bless ya, #6. It is past time to admit what the GOP is and quit being so shocked that their levers of power always end up helping - the DEMOCRATS. I always knew the keeping obvious RINOs in office would bite our country in the behind hard one day. The Uniparty is merely out in the open now. This carp has been going on since REAGAN. The establishment and Bushes hated the man.

#3, I was in your corner earlier.
Now, not so much.
I thought when they ran off McCarthy we might get Jim Jordan or SOMEONE with some perceived principles and backbone.
Apparently no one with similar values had any support. Which leads me to believe they are ALL compromised.
So, if we don’t support Johnson and we think he is replaceable, name names.
Otherwise, we try to keep him Speaker if PDJT is reelected. (And if PDJT is NOT reelected, who is Speaker will be the least of our worries.)

I don't prefer Johnson either, but it's an election year...so keep him until November...sometimes you have to accept teachers, co workers & friends you don't care for .... that's life...
