The Trump 2020 campaign is much,
much more formidable than 2016

Spectator USA, by Freddy Gray

Original Article

Almost every day, somebody somewhere recycles the idea that President Donald J. Trump doesn’t want to be president. He never did, they say. His heart is not in it. He wants to protect his business empire first and foremost. He doesn’t like having to answer to Congress. You’ll have heard these arguments in one form or another. They all make sense, until you consider that there is almost zero evidence to support them. The truth is that, unless he is pulling the greatest con perpetuated against American democracy (not impossible), Trump is running again –

I said from the beginning when Trump announced he wanted to run for POTUS, that his downfall is he actually wants to fix things.

That´s not what government normally does, they typically like to discuss it, form a "blue ribbon" committee(filled with friends and former colleagues) to review it and make recommendations, then determine if they need to do anything.

And, since they can´t allow an outsider to come along and start making things happen, they need to resist, and obstruct, or they will all look bad since many have stated they have been "working" on X issue for the last Y number of years - with little or no improvement.

I´m sure that Trump thinks that many of the people in government are incompetent fools that he would rather not have to deal with. He is correct and they are terrified that he is showing them up. It isn´t even hard to do, mostly just getting out of the way of the American people and letting them solve the problem.

Where is Trump having problems? Where the government has a legitimate presence, like for immigration. The Congress is composed of dopey dems who hate this country and have no solutions, RINOs whose egos gum up the works, and Republicans terrified of their shadows. There are now some Republicans, emboldened by Trump´s enormous success, who are willing to fight to move things forward. Unfortunately, Trump cannot just fire them. But Trump is used to dealing with politicians. He will drive things forward.

When it comes to the campaign, people who lean Republican now know that Trump delivers. Minorities know that Trump delivers. Voters know that the media is not to be trusted so media narratives and lies are far less effective. Voters know that the dems are going off the rails on a crazy train full of clown candidates. Voters know that BO failed and Trump has succeeded. Voters are coming to know that Trump was innocent of collusion and that Hillary and BO conspired to frame him, corrupting the government in the process.

Events alone will drive a successful campaign. A formidable organization may make it an historic one and shatter the dem party and the media.

The democrats really didn´t need to hear this. They are having enough trouble beating each other up and competing for the title of Nut Case of the Century to have to organize against an unbeatable republican candidate. So sad. (Smirk)

Why the Census Citizenship Question Matters
Real Clear Politics, by Mike Hunter    Original Article

Much noise has been made about reinstating a citizenship question on the 2020 census, the subject of Tuesday’s Supreme Court arguments. The objections to the citizenship question revolve around unjustified hysteria and the unfortunate, but growing, notion that citizenship doesn’t matter. As attorney general of Oklahoma, I filed an amicus curiae brief joined by 16 other states in support of the citizenship question, in part to bring some sober thinking that should quell the unreasonable panic. Let’s start with the Constitution: It gives Congress the power to conduct the “Enumeration …

I hereby nominate Eric Holder for the inaugural Nobel Prize for Chutzpah. Obama’s initial attorney general, the first black American to hold that office, has a ton of nerve to lecture Attorney General William Barr about releasing the Mueller Report. “The attorney general of the United States is the people’s lawyer, not the president’s lawyer,” Holder said Thursday in Chicago’s Rogers Park district. “You have a responsibility to run the Justice Department in a way that is not political.” This is not the same Holder who served Obama.

Elizabeth Warren may be the least jolly member of the Senate, but she is nonetheless offering up her best Santa Claus impersonation as she seeks the Democratic presidential nomination, complete with a trillion-dollar-a-decade student-loan giveaway — to be paid for by those on her naughty list. Senator Warren proposes to pay off Americans’ student loans in a tiered fashion: Up to $50,000 in bailouts for those earning up to $100,000 a year, gradually phased out to $0.00 for those earning $250,000 a year or more. That would eliminate all student debt for about 75 percent of borrowers

Democrats face Catch-22 with

Speaker Nancy Pelosi´s (D-Calif.) near-term effort to tamp down talk of impeaching President Trump could have the paradoxical effect of building support for that very step. Pelosi and Democratic leaders this week launched a series of aggressive investigations into the myriad allegations facing the president, many stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller´s recently released report on Russia´s 2016 election interference. The strategy is designed, in part, to dampen the growing calls for impeachment — a move Pelosi considers premature — by assuring her troops that party leaders have no intention of letting Trump off the hook.

Nathaniel Hawthorne, call your office. Hester Prynne, your fictional protagonist, had a scarlet letter “A” imprinted on her dress, to wear in public and thus advertise to the end of her life her adulterous relationship. Hester was ostracized, a punishment visited on Donald Trump by various public- and private-life segments of the Never Trump coalition: academics, Hollywood and above all, left-wing mainstream press. Hester, doing penance to the end of her life, stuck to her knitting; Trump, for the remainder of his first term, and perhaps, for a full second term, plans to stick to his — being president.

But life and politics have a way of taking unexpected turns, and here I am writing about the considerable strengths Sanders brings to the 2020 election. I do so not to endorse Sanders or to minimize the large and diverse Democratic field. It is early in the primary

No good deed goes unpunished. Similarly, it seems no well-intentioned piece of legislation is ever used as intended. This could not be more true than when it comes to the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (“ESA”). In 1972, then-President Nixon charged Congress with establishing a “stronger law to protect endangered species of wildlife.” President Nixon wanted the federal government to be able to step in earlier to aid in the recovery of endangered species and, for the first time, to make “shooting, trapping, or other taking of endangered species,” a federal offense. Congress responded to the president

The release of the report by special counsel Robert Mueller has unleashed a furious debate within the Democratic Party over the need to commence impeachment proceedings against President Trump. Mueller was anything but subtle in his pointed discussion of how Congress can deal with the “corrupt exercise of the powers of office” within “our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law.” In writing those words, Mueller put Democrats in Congress in a more uncomfortable position than he did Trump. Indeed, Trump seems quite satisfied with defining victory as avoiding indictment.

As I walk the halls of the Capitol, meeting with members of Congress and their staff about the energy policies that help and hurt our country’s future, I’m shocked how many people don’t know and can’t believe this fact. Over the last 50 years, harmful air pollution known as particulate matter has plummeted. Toxic pollutants like lead, sulfur dioxide, and carbon monoxide are now nearly nonexistent in our air. Ozone is down dramatically. We’re the only highly populated nation in the world to meet the World Health Organization’s

It would have been easy until a few weeks ago to assume Italian-American mobsters were extinct, and that´s exactly how Francesco "Franky Boy" Cali liked it. Investigators say Cali ran the Gambino crime family like a "ghost," conducting business strictly in person to avoid wiretaps, and insisting that his underlings do the same. The truth of violations of law by the Obama White House, long buried, is being excavated by two private groups. Judicial Watch has obtained testimony from a top FBI official that Hillary home brew server emails were found in the White House. This means that Barrack Obama’s illegal handling of classified information contained in those emails is closer to being exposed. This implicates him in the same felonies committed by Hillary Clinton that James Comey falsely claimed “no reasonable prosecutor” would pursue.
