‘Who are you becoming?’ Why America
needs Michelle Obama’s message now

In the opening pages of Michelle Obama’s memoir “Becoming,” she says something that might have sounded pretty provocative when she started writing the book in the days after she and her husband, former President Barack Obama, moved out of the White House. “When you’re first lady, America shows itself to you in its extremes.” (Snip) But one reason she’s been so effective at going high when the crudest and most retrograde among us decide to go low is that she’s so gifted at not surrendering to her own extremes. That she was able to draw some 18,000 people from so

She showed off her ´humility´ here:
She told the audience that in her early years at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she was more focused on a shallower kind of status, in the form of her Princeton and Harvard degrees, her fancy job, her nice car and clothes.

I thought she was trying to “become” the de facto President. Humility ain’t in her vocabulary.

Since I´m not wasting my time reading whatever someone wrote for Moochelle (since she writes on the middle school level, if you´ve seen her college thesis), I have a question. The title. Is the Mooch "Becoming" less angry and bitter? Less of a bully? Inquiring minds want to know.

MObama did not write the book. At best, she dictated it and someone else wrote down and then improved her words. This is not work; this is yapping.

If MObama is "becoming" then why the hell did she and Obama and their entourage spend all that money in Hawaii every Christmas? What about Air Force One flying to NYC for an anniversary dinner?

MObama is as materialistic as anyone! Don´t give me that nonsense, "St. Michelle"! It is utter bull stool.

I always remember the year when, for some reason, Emperor Obama the First needed to show that he was working until about 3 pm or so on the day he planned to head to Hawaii for his three-week or so Christmas vacation (preceeded, of course, by an early December vacation and followed by another pleasure trip by mid-January).

Anyway, Mrs. Obama couldn´t be bothered about waiting three hours or so for hubby to finish his very, very important job (probably picking his fantasy football team for the week) and took off early for the Islands in her entourage of government provided jet planes.

I guess it becomes a pain when you have to pay (or have friends) pay for your vacations after 8 years on the taxpayer/sucker´s dimes.

Too soon? While warm sparks were still spilling down from the ceilings at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, a Democratic lawmaker was using the blaze to describe President Trump. Rep. Steve Cohen, Tennessee Democrat, appeared Monday evening on MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” show to tout his long crusade to impeach Mr. Trump and promptly reached for the fire. “What he has done to the Constitution and the rule of law is as bad as that fire did to Notre Dame. He’s torching the entire structure of government and the people’s respect for it.

While Christians have long challenged Charles Darwin’s theory of undirected evolution, few appreciate the true extent of the challenge beyond the church. Current estimates are that approximately one-third of professional academic biologists who do not believe in intelligent design find Darwin’s theory is inadequate to describe all of the complexity in biology. Ben Stein documented a crackdown within the academy on criticism of Darwin in his 2008 documentary “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.” While this might explain why the public rarely hears of challenges to Neo-Darwinism, the documentary centered on intelligent design. But the growing discontent in academia is from secular naturalists.

The event was billed as ‘an intimate conversation with Michelle Obama’. And as the former US first lady strolled onstage in a loose silk trouser suit, her fans may well have thought they’d been invited to a pyjama party. Mrs Obama – more often seen in glamorous dresses at black-tie events – slipped into something more comfortable to promote her memoir Becoming in Paris. (Photo) She teamed her orange-striped suit with open-toe heels and hoop earrings. The mother of two, 55, spoke of her ‘disbelief’ at the blaze in the city’s Notre Dame cathedral. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) called the Notre Dame Cathedral “art and architecture” in a tweet Monday, without referencing its name or significance to the Catholic religion. “Art and architecture have a unique ability to help us connect across our differences and bring people together in important ways. Thinking of the people of Paris and praying for every first responder trying to save this wonder,” she tweeted. The tweet sparked immediate criticism from those who noted that the historical Catholic cathedral was more than just “art and architecture.”

On Tuesday, appearing at a town hall at the University of Virginia, former congressman and current presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke offered a typically egocentric answer when asked why he donated so little money to charity: the audience should understand the sacrifice he’s making running for president. (Video) The Dallas Morning News reported that Maura Nakahata, a senior majoring in chemistry with a minor in government, asked O’Rourke why if he made seven times what her sister made, she gave more money to charity than O’Rourke. As Jenna Johnson of The Washington Post reported, O’Rourke responded loftily: I’ve served in office since
