Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara has resigned following an investigation into O'Hara's behavior, which found that he had interfered with a previous investigation and was facing pending discipline because of it. With O'Hara's ouster, Katie Blackwell will now run the department. She was caught lying during the Derek Chauvin trial.O'Hara was given a written reprimand from Mayor Jacob Frey. [snip] According to Alpha News, more than 30 complaints were filed against O'Hara during his three years as Chief. ABC News reports that 17 complaints against him remain open, and investigations into those complaints will continue even though O'Hara has resigned.

Comments:

We should keep one of those bunker busters headed for Tehran and send it to Minneapolis. Start over.

When senior police are chosen by politicians for their political compatibility, not for their law enforcement competence and their honesty, you get this sort of lying, cheating, crooked folks running the police force. So, now that Acting Chief is a proven perjurer. How nice. Not.

More reasons for a Minneapolis cop to become a non-Minneapolis cop....years ago I was there for a couple weeks doing strike duty and loved the downtown and the skywalks connecting the buildings...not so any more...just another place like Noo Yawk, and Joisey and Kaliforniastan where I will no longer tread.

O'Hara tried to go along with the Woke agenda and probably thought that gave him some leeway with personal ''indiscretions''. Now Minneapolis is without a police chief as the youth-gatherings season is gaining steam. Expect lots of crime.

This is one screwed up city. If I were mayor, I would bring in folks from the outside to clean house. Of course, the current mayor will not. If I were governor, I would ask the mayor what the hell was going on in his city. Of course, the current governor will not.

America’s political and cultural divisions are increasingly finding their way into the nation’s courtrooms. From bitter jury-room disputes to unusually public clashes among Supreme Court justices, the judiciary – long considered the most restrained and deliberate of America’s institutions – is beginning to reflect the same polarization reshaping much of American public life. Courts were once the federal branch of government least likely to generate headlines for hot tempers or personal attacks. Increasingly, they are starting to look like everything else. A Warning Sign From the Jury Box A recent Wall Street Journal report by Corinne Ramey offers a striking introduction to the problem.

A bill that would ban ingredients used in many of New Jersey’s pizzas, along with other food additives, is making its way through the Legislature and drawing pushback from the food industry. The measure, S3785, would prohibit the use of certain ingredients based on their classification as potential carcinogens. Among them is potassium bromate, a dough-strengthening agent used in some commercial bread and pizza doughs, though not all pizzerias rely on it. The bill also takes aim at a range of additives and food dyes, and includes restrictions on what can be served in school lunches in an effort to improve children’s health.

The June 2024 presidential debate between then-President Joe Biden (D) and then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was inarguably one of the most consequential events in American political history, largely because it proved to the American people beyond a shadow of a doubt that the occupant of the Oval Office was unwell. As we all know, it led to Biden withdrawing from the presidential race three weeks later after essentially being forced out by his fellow Democrats. It was a reckoning of sorts for the Democrat Party, the Biden-Harris administration, and the mainstream media, all of whom played starring roles in the deliberate years-long cover-up of Biden's decline,

Spoiler alert: Naaah. But it's certainly fun to fantasize. Yes, John Cornyn may have been a slightly safer bet than Ken Paxton in a general election. Given the relative difference between how the two would have voted over the next six years, the gain from nominating Paxton probably doesn't justify the assumed risk of dethroning the incumbent Cornyn. It might take more money to fight for the seat in the general election, but that assumes that Democrats would have left Texas alone had Cornyn eked out a win over Paxton. The Communist Twelver Shi’ite mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, made a major announcement on Tuesday: he is beginning to implement the Marxist seizure of property in New York City.
