Gingrich offers Trump a six-point plan

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is offering a six-point plan for President Donald Trump and his Republican Party to win the midterms in November, after the president's big victories Tuesday night. Gingrich, as a guest Wednesday on the John Solomon Reports" podcast, urged Trump to work on lowering gas prices before Labor Day this September, arguing it's a critical affordability point if the president wants his candidates to do well in November. (Snip) Gingrich also pushed the White House to compile and promote a list of the "craziest things" that Democrats have done amid the Trump administration, including everything that its leaders have said to try to ensure

Comments:

Pretty good advice. I hope President Trump sees his take on Iran, which points out that Iran is driven by religion so diplomacy is useless. Trump is a transactional business man, which works most of the time, but not with crazed Muslims.

Stop the selling of oil to foreign countries and increase the supply in the states. Oil company execs love the high prices and aren't going to give them up without a fight!

Sounds to me like good advice. I suggest President Trump eliminate the mullets and the IRGC Thugs ASAP, because as long as those extremists run Iran, nothing there will change.

Newt is right, he's a smart politician. Trump has to get moving because we have just lost over a month dealing with these lunatics in Iran. They will never change, they are sick, delusional people. We have to get this over with in the next few weeks at the latest. Ending this war will lower gas prices and take away any talking points for democrats. Without Iran democrats are lost.

Newt also advises that Texans re-elect John Cornyn. No thanks. I wonder if Newt has any advice for Republican members of Congress to do anything. Trump is working 365/24/7, and could use some help occasionally from that group of do nothings, who are on a disgraceful 10 day vacation, after which they will be back to their 4 day work week, Congressional gym, Congressional cafeteria, and Congressional doctor appts. and dental cleanings.

I just have a hard time with Americans kvetching about the price of gas while still getting their acrylic nails and/or another tattoo. That Trump has to figure that into his calculations of dealing with the mad mullahs is distressing. Sure isn’t the World War 2 generation anymore.

Offering a plan that wins the midterms is all well and good, but it does not go far enough. Focus on governing. Focus on the debt (nobody discusses the debt). The debt is eating us alive and will likely lead to this nation's downfall if not corrected. Focusing on gas and oil prices is good, but there is more. What is the price tag for taking down Iran? It's probably in the trillions. It's inevitable we will be spending money we do not have. We have to focus on growing the economy and we need a long term strategy. What do we need to do to achieve that? We need to take a long cold hard look at our government. Is it failing us? Personally, I think so. What do we need to do to fix it? I like Newt. He's smart. He's effective. He has ideas. Not sure where his loyalties lie. I want him to focus on the country as well as winning elections.

Bravo, #5. Your analysis is always worthwhile. Technically, Newt has some good advice. I think he should be lecturing Mike Johnson and Senator Thune. As he has had his nose in the DC trough ever since he was SOTH, his perspectives and RINO loyalties give him a big blind spot, IMO. He is for corrupt obstructive Cornyn? Trump is not in the same battle Newt and Reagan were. This is not the 1980’s. He has been in the DC club too long. He has been at the trough too long.

President Trump deserves the gratitude of all American patriots. He has singlehandedly stopped the slide towards chaos that Obama and Biden worked so hard to achieve; he was kneecapped in his first administration by disloyal, treasonous bureaucrats and Democrat Party extremists bent on destroying what generations of Americans have built. Like any other leader, the president is not all-knowing and all-seeing. While most of his supporters enjoy his humor and his readiness to boldly confront our enemies, foreign and domestic, there are times when somebody must speak bluntly to him when he is about to slip on a banana peel. This is one of those times.

Americans across the political spectrum were stunned by Donald Trump’s upset victory in 2016. Pundits, pollsters, and political insiders had largely failed to account for a powerful bloc of supporters who either stayed quiet about their views or were underestimated entirely — the “silent Trump voter.” Now, a decade later, some are wondering whether that same phenomenon might be happening in the Los Angeles mayoral race.Is there such a thing as the “silent Spencer Pratt voter”? The growing excitement and online buzz surrounding the former reality-TV star’s campaign has sparked national headlines in the weeks since he turned a candidate debate with Mayor Karen Bass and city council member Nithya Raman

President Donald Trump keeps delivering the border-security promise that helped return him to the White House. However, when the previous occupant of the Oval Office held the door open for millions, it created several problems. One of them is where to put 'em? The DHS wants more detention space because illegal immigrants can't be processed, held, and quickly removed without beds, staff, transportation, and secure facilities. Transforming empty warehouses into detention centers sounds efficient on paper, especially after years of Biden-era border chaos. Then the plan reaches a small town with a water system, sewer capacity, and residents who still expect the faucet to work when they turn the knob.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday called some of the principal Democrats who have recently been inciting their mindless minions to violence against President Donald Trump and his supporters, and it was a beautiful thing to see. But Leavitt likely knows that the hate-filled left is unlikely to be chastened, and even less likely to change its ways. For leftists, political power is their religion. The Supreme Court is under attack. It has been under attack for years, almost exclusively from the left. And by “under attack,” I don’t mean the peaceful criticism. I mean everything from challenges to its legitimacy to outright ignoring its rulings to death threats against conservative justices. This began years ago. Chief Justice John Roberts initially responded by trying to stay apolitical and by trying to ignore the criticism. When President Barack Obama called him out during his 2010 State of the Union address, Roberts called the stunt “very troubling.” In the last two decades, that has been the entire extent of his pushback against the left.
