It’s long been conceded that the president controls foreign policy, although Congress, as a body, has the power to limit that control. Currently, Trump’s foreign policy is to prevent Cuba from having access to oil. The point of this embargo is to bring the regime to breaking point—and to encourage its beleaguered people to rise up—ending one of the world’s most evil regimes, which has long been a threat on our southern flank.
However, there’s one person in Congress who thinks this is a really bad idea: Rep. Pramila Jayapal (Socialist-WA). To that end, Jayapal admittedly pursued her own foreign policy, separate from any congressional action, to get oil to Cuba.

Walgreens has announced that it is closing a store in the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago. They claim that the store is losing upwards of a million dollars a year to theft, so the reason for the closure is no mystery. They say that this particular store loses more in theft than any other store.
And yet… The political leaders in Chicago, who allow thieves to run wild, are angry at Walgreens.
They caused this, with their soft on crime policies, yet they are mad at Walgreens for closing the location.

Back in 2000, when my then-fiancé, now-wife (Johanna), and I lived in Hawaii, I could spot her in a crowd from over a mile away. See, she’s a Dutch citizen — and according to the laws of her country, she’s 5-feet-10 and has blonde hair. (All Dutch people are tall and blonde. Hawaiians are tiny and have dark hair. True story: I had to crouch my hulking 5-foot, 11-inch body, just to fit beneath our Hawaiian shower.)
Then we moved to Los Angeles.
Talk about a total role reversal: We’d go to the mall… and she’d just vanish. Back then, LA was the land of the 5-foot-10 blondes! (Sometimes,

President Trump slammed New York Gov. Kathy Hochul for blaming his administration for the Long Island Rail Road strike.
LIRR is the largest commuter rail system in the U.S.
Hochul released a formal statement criticizing Trump on Saturday.
"Failed New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, a Dumacrat, just blamed ME for her Long Island Railroad STRIKE, when she knows, full well, that I have NOTHING TO DO WITH IT - never even heard about it until this morning. She just blurted out, "It’s President Trump’s fault.' No, Kathy, it’s your fault, and now looking over the facts, you should not have allowed this to happen," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The Long Island Rail Road strike sparked a firestorm of finger-pointing in the hours after thousands of workers walked off the job in a midnight strike, mangling commutes for countless Long Islanders.
Gov. Kathy Hochul found herself under withering criticism when she tried to pin the transit meltdown on the Trump administration within an hour of the strike.
“The disruption that Long Islanders face starting tonight is the direct result of reckless actions by the Trump Administration to cut mediation short and push these negotiations toward a strike,” Hochul said in a sentiment mirrored similar ones by MTA boss Janno Lieber —

President Trump gave Tehran another reason to worry Saturday, posting a video clip on his Truth Social showing him ordering a military attack on an Iranian aircraft.
“Okay, we have it in our sight. Fire – boom!” Trump says, as a US-flagged destroyer blows one with the Iranian flag out of the sky.
In his latest comments on the war, Trump has dismissed Iran’s latest peace offer as “unacceptable,” while speaking freely about the devastation the US military has already inflicted on Iran — and the targets it spared but could reconsider.“We hit them unbelievably hard. The Democrats are so upset they're losing the redistricting battle.
I wrote earlier on Saturday on how Kamala Harris is now promoting a slew of bad ideas in response, including going after the Electoral College, packing the Supreme Court, and making Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., new U.S. states.
It just shows that to the Dems, it isn't about the rule of law or the Constitution: it's about how they can get control and/or hold onto it. What makes the Democrats' meltdown even better, and puts some icing on the cake, is just how much money they spent on the losing effort attempting to add four seats in Virginia.

It's official: Florida's Palm Beach International Airport is now President Donald J. Trump International Airport, and the aviation world is catching up. The rename has been in the works for months, driven by state legislation, federal action, and the straightforward reality that Palm Beach is Trump's home turf — Mar-a-Lago sits just a few miles from the runways. The name change takes effect July 1; the code flips from PBI to DJT on July 9. [Tweet]
A final rule in the Federal Register sealed it on May 14.
The Florida House passed the renaming bill 81–30, and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed it into law on March 30.

Admittedly, I haven’t been paying much attention to the Los Angeles mayoral race, but a LEGO-animated campaign ad caught my attention, and I just had to write about it.
The ad, published this week in support of Spencer Pratt's 2026 campaign for mayor of Los Angeles, is making the rounds online, and for good reason. It's a parody of "Everything Is Awesome" from The Lego Movie, set against a LEGO-animated cityscape that tells the dirty truth about the city under Karen Bass’s leadership.
It opens with a scene that cuts straight to the truth: a man assaulting a police officer on a city street.

We must end this madness. The fact that Americans are now expected to accept taxpayer-funded “transing” of people—especially vulnerable children—as legitimate public policy is beyond absurd. How did we ever arrive at a point where the government not only tolerates but also financially supports puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and irreversible surgeries?
Regardless of where Americans stand on broader cultural debates, taxpayers should never be forced to bankroll permanent medical interventions that carry enormous physical, emotional, and financial consequences. It is irrational, irresponsible, and deeply dangerous. Let’s be honest about what makes this so insane. We do not use public dollars to help people smoke more cigarettes. We do not subsidize alcoholism.

During President Donald Trump's trip to China this week, marked by fanfare and pleasantries, a stark contrast was on display in the United States where the Justice Department charged an American mayor for illegally acting as an agent of the Chinese Communist government.

Minnesota Democrats are advancing legislation that would recognize an “inherent right” for uncultivated wild rice to “exist and thrive,” even as state law continues to uphold expansive abortion “rights.” Senate File 3749 (SF3749), introduced by Senator Mary Kunesh (D-New Brighton) on February 19, 2026, would amend Minnesota’s statute describing the state’s official grain and add language recognizing such a right.

With the dust on redistricting mostly settled, Republicans appear poised for a double-digit swing of House seats in their favor in the 2026 midterms, at least if all goes according to plan.
The Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais saw the justices narrow Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and disallow race-based congressional districts. The move triggered map redraws across the South and is expected to result in more than a dozen seats moving toward the GOP, at least in time for 2028.
Democratic countermeasures, meanwhile, have hit a judicial brick wall, with the Virginia Supreme Court striking down that state’s ambitious redraw, saving four Republican seats.

In addition to all the reasons that Kamala Harris was awful, Minnesota Gov. Walz made it all worse with what a joke he was as a candidate. If you become known for the ridiculous things you say rather than for doing anything consequentially good, that could be a problem.
Walz did become known for something consequential, something consequentially bad. He dropped out of running again for governor after the Minnesota fraud scandal exploded. He helped demonize Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and incited radicals in his state against law enforcement.

Even though this will be his last year as governor due to term limits, Ron DeSantis (R) remains a target of Florida's Democrats due in large part to his effectiveness, the fact that he's unapologetically conservative, and his standing firm on the issues that are important to him and a majority of Floridians.
So it was no surprise that amid the marathon session that produced a new congressional map approved by lawmakers on the day of the Louisiana v. Callais SCOTUS ruling, and which DeSantis promptly signed into law, some Democrat state lawmakers staged temper tantrums to protest the map's supposed lack of fairness in representation.

It was a busy week in the news, although, to be honest, a relatively quiet one in meme-world. Trump went to China, the New York Times sank to what could be a new low even for that despicable rag, the Spencer Pratt campaign took Los Angeles by storm, a Hollywood director unveiled a new adaptation of The Odyssey in which Helen is black and Achilles is a woman, the Democrats’ redistricting scheme blew up, for the most part, in their face. But meme-makers responded most to another story, the appearance of the dreaded hantavirus. Here, as someone once said, we go again. And here we go

Not that anyone was watching it, but Whoopi Goldberg had a meltdown on The View this week, and Greg Gutfeld made sure she didn't get away with it.
Whoopi went on this rambling tangent about how nobody is running the country. She torched Kash Patel, Pete Hegseth, and basically every official in the Trump administration. "I have no faith in the people who are running anything," she said. "I don't believe in anybody who is running this country right now."
Of course, none of them were asking for Whoopi’s endorsement or vote of confidence. Not that that mattered. But, of course, she wasn’t done. She went full theater-of-the-absurd

It was another day on The Five, which means another round of Jessica Tarlov losing her mind over something to do with Donald Trump and Greg Gutfeld methodically dismantling every argument she threw at the wall.
On Friday, it started with Tarlov going after Trump's money. She brought up his horrible crime of making money, reportedly $3 billion last year. Gutfeld didn't let her get far.
"He made less money this year than he did when he was out of office," he pointed out.
That did not go over well. Tarlov, voice rising, fired back: "He's the president. You're supposed to have made $400,000."
Gutfeld was ready, "I know this is going to blow

Eric Trump announced plans to sue MS Now and host Jen Psaki Friday for accusing him of being a board member of a company purportedly seeking to do business in China.
The former White House press secretary and host of “The Briefing with Jen Psaki” made the statement during a recent show monologue in which she suggested President Trump’s second-born son joined his father on his high-profile China trip to further his own business interests.
“Contrary to her monolog[ue] and blatant lies, I have NEVER been on the board of ALT5 — not now, not ever,” Eric Trump wrote on X. “Any person with basic access —

President Trump announced Friday night that US and Nigerian forces killed ISIS’s second in command in a “very complex mission.”
“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS globally, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing,” the president continued. “He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans.

Stephen Colbert’s last show is next week, and while millions of Americans will celebrate not having to see his hateful, one-trick-pony show ever again, his fans in the liberal media are very upset.
Tonight on CNN, Jake Tapper wove a broad conspiracy as the real reason for Colbert’s cancellation, a conspiracy largely driven by Trump, and not the fact that Colbert’s show has been losing tens of millions of dollars a year for the network that carries it.
We think we’ve discovered the reason why Tapper’s ratings are so low. It has to do with being an idiot and a liar.

People have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio if he plans to run for president in 2028, and his answer has been the same every time. Unequivocally, he endorses Vice President JD Vance, who is assumed to be the likely Republican standard-bearer. At the same time, given the way in which Rubio has been used, while rising to the occasion every time, you cannot ignore him. President Donald Trump has not shied away from praising both Vance and Rubio, but he has been substantially more effusive lately in his comments about Rubio.
This has more than a few people in Washington, D.C., chattering.
