A federal judge has sentenced two Ohio brothers who posed as Middle Eastern royalty in a series of multimillion-dollar fraud schemes to more than twenty years in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Donald Nugent sentenced Zubair and Muzzammil Al Zubair, ages 42 and 31, to 24 years and 23 years in prison respectively, as well as $21 million in restitution, in schemes that also involved an East Cleveland official in the mayor’s office. “You stole a lot of money, defrauded people and put East Cleveland in a terrible light,” Nugent told the brothers during their Tuesday sentencing. “You basically flaunted it by driving around in a Rolls Royce

My folks were selling their house in Seattle about 36 yrs ago. A real estate agent came to their house saying he had a client who wanted to buy their house. The agent said the buyer didn't have to fill out a credit report because his father was a doctor to the King of Saudia Arabia. I think my folks laughed in his face.

Decades in prison, millions in restitution. Was that so hard? Keep it up and the bad guys will think twice about plying their craft in Ohio and likely move to NY or CA.

NBC Offers Pathetic, Slobbering Profile

NBC’s Today debased itself on Wednesday by sending former First Daughter and fourth-hour co-host Jenna Bush Hager to interview former President Barack Obama for a syrupy sit-down about the opening of his Obama Presidential Center next month. The whole segment was as wishy-washy as Obama’s biography and omitted the pesky facts about the hefty admission costs, budget overruns, laying waste to the community’s landscape, a lack of compliance with the norm of past presidential record-keeping, and years of delays. Unsurprisingly, there were a whopping four teases for this interview, starting off the top with co-host Savannah Guthrie stating they’d reveal “what he hopes it will inspire for generations to come”

While she lost the election, the usual ‘ranked choice’ shenanigans that elevated Mamdani in New York City, and other urban leftists, put her ahead of Melvin Carter III who was not an illegal. In her inaugural address, Mayor Kaohly Her described federal immigration enforcement as an “unprecedented incursion that we must meet head on.” She spoke while surrounded by minority female politicians as well as Robert ‘Susan Kimblery’ Sylvester: a former

A new proposal in Congress would allow seniors to work in order to make ends meet without fear of losing their Social Security benefits. The “Senior Citizens’ Freedom to Work Act” would nix the Retirement Earnings Test, under which Social Security recipients lose benefits if they claim early retirement and continue earning above a particular threshold. The bill was introduced by Rep. Greg Murphy, a Republican from North Carolina, according to an April 16 release from his office. Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott introduced a companion bill. “American seniors’ ability to earn income and enjoy the dignity of work should not be penalized by arbitrary parameters to receive Social Security

Virginia prosecutor determined Tuesday not to bring criminal charges against a resident who has been accused of threatening White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller and his family. The case centers on whether Barbara Wien, a political activist in the state, engaged in a doxing and intimidation scheme against Miller and his wife, Katie Miller, last year, after she posted flyers in northern Virginia that depicted Miller's face and address. She has also been accused of attempting to intimidate Miller's wife at their Virginia home. Arlington and Falls Church Commonwealth Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti said in a 166-page court filing that she reviewed the case against Wien and found "nothing

The Department of Homeland Security has restarted processing visas for thousands of foreign doctors from 39 high-risk countries who have been hired by U.S. hospitals. Pro-migration advocates are celebrating what they hope will be a greater foreign inflow into American hospitals: It “is a great development for physicians and health care in the U.S.,” lawyer Curtis Morrison, who works for employers, told the New York Times. But the renewed inflow is bad for American patients and bad for the many Americans who want to become doctors, said Kevin Lynn, the director of the Institute for Sound Public Policy. “This year, over 1,300 [American] graduates from medical schools did not get [hospital training]

Democratic Rhode Island state Sen. Tiara Mack introduced S2710 on Feb. 27 with eight co-sponsors, legislation that tightens the state’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” by prohibiting possession of the firearms. Under the terms of the legislation, those who own prohibited firearms would have until Dec. 31 to either sell them to a licensed dealer or transfer them to an out-of-state resident who could legally own them, something pro-Second Amendment organizations say would violate Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

When my kids were very young, one of the first words that we banned was “stupid.” No one is stupid, I would tell them; some people just don’t think things through. Well, to borrow from that explanation, I probably didn’t think that all the way through. Nowhere is this more evident than on social media. The latest example is a social media manager, of all things,

The document, dated April 23 and formally received by the court on May 1, was processed through the Pro Se office of the Brooklyn court, confirming that the drug trafficker acted on his own, without the support or signature of his defense attorneys.
