Rumors have been flying for hours on social media that the second American pilot who ejected into enemy territory in Iran has been rescued by U.S. forces.

US forces have successfully extracted a downed American airman from Iran, with the rescued crew member and the special operations team now “safely out of Iran,” according to reports.
The airman was one of two aboard an F-15E Strike Eagle shot down earlier this week. Both had ejected over southwestern Iran, triggering a high-risk rescue mission.
The second crew member was recovered following intense fighting near the crash site, as US forces carried out a complex operation deep inside Iranian territory, according to Fox News. The airman and the rescue team that pulled him “from behind enemy lines in Iran are all safely out of Iran,”
Reports are bouncing around X that the Weapons System Officer has been recovered after a dramatic battle in southern Iran.
No confirmation yet from the Central Command, so take these reports with a large grain of salt. All the reports seem to trace back to a well-regarded milblogger and former Green Beret, who supposedly has an impeccable record. What doesn't appear to be in dispute is that a battle has taken place near the site where the downed F-15 crewmember was hiding. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may have dropped off the radar a little bit after things settled down in Minneapolis, but a flurry of arrests just outside Pittsburgh suggests that ICE is as active as ever and addressing a problem that’s been a long time coming.
