Former Starbucks owner and CEO Howard Schultz says he is leaving Seattle for Miami after 44 years in the java giant’s home state of Washington — as Dems there have been pushing for a so-called “millionaires’ tax.”
He has paid about $44 million for a 5,500-square-foot penthouse at the Surf Club, Four Seasons Private Residences in Surfside, Fla., the Wall Street Journal reported.
“For those of you who know us well, we have entered the ‘retirement’ phase of our lives,” Schultz wrote about himself and his wife Sheri Schultz in a late Tuesday LinkedIn post. “We are enjoying the sunshine

One wonders have all these taxes on billionaires and millionaires is actually an undesirable person relocation program. It’s pretty clear people in these states that hate wealth want to get rid of these people as they are considered some form of locus. It appears that increase taxes on their wealth is very effective at reading the state of these pestilent people.

Greed and desperation is going to cause these failed blue cities to bankrupt themselves even faster than their political spending can as their most wealthy people leave before they are robbed. Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, Seattle, Chicago... I'm looking forward to it.

Unfortunately I am sure he and all the other people relocating are holding onto their ideology, sure to contaminate their new communities.

I have never purchased anything from Starbuck's. I have never been in a store or a drive through. I do know that WA is pushing the envelope on insanity. So when you realize it's even too nuts for you please park your insanity leanings on the WA side of the border.

Wham! Another liberal gets mugged. Welcome to Florida, Mr. Schultz, but please leave your liberalism in Washington.

Howie needs to stay in the rathole that he helped create. Seattle used to be a beautiful city. Then came the leftists, aka fools.

It turns out that rich folks adjust their behaviors in response to taxes.
Dems are so, so, SO stupid that they cannot grasp this.

It's folks like Schultz who pushed and supported Democrats over the past 2 decades that helped create the mess they're trying to move away from now.
I sure hope they start to realize they need to back Republicans in the 2026 election or they may not find many good landing spots in the future.

Will the lefty nutjobs start a campaign to boycott that overpriced swill? And I agree with others, don't bring your socialist voting habits and comments to Florida and try to destroy another State.

Poster #1- Here's a conspiracy theory for you. It's a plan by the rich liberals to propose a wealth tax so the same rich liberals can relocate to red states with their liberal policies and start their destructive ideology again.

When I was active-duty Navy Stationed in Pearl Harbor I remember going to Seattle. It was a beautiful city and I as a duty driver had to drive an 18-passenger van to Sea-Tac Airport to pick up midshipmen. This was back when you had to use actual maps to navigate and as a 21-year-old who at that time never drove a vehicle that size it was a dauting task to say the least. That city had more one-way streets than Honolulu or San Francisco. Good times in the 90s. Now in the year of our Lord 2026 I wouldn't live there if you paid me. Old leftard Howie should stay put since he helped destroy a once great West Coast city.

The expression "he is for it until he is against it" comes to mind. Howard Schultz backs every Democrat policy or person until it affects his own person or wealth. It just seems that the ultra-rich liberals and Democrat government are ALL self-serving entities. As a result, quality goes down the drain. . .

I don't know what Seattle's taxes are on top of the state sales and state income tax etc., but would imagine they are substantial. Even billionaires don't like to be looked on as cows to get milked at every opportunity. On top of that, they are constantly disparaged as greedy, capitalist thieves. They also have the means to pack up and leave and leave they will. For some of us older folks, we remember the 'Laffer Curve' and Seattle is about to find how it works.
