Nearly a year after a nine-person jury found Greenpeace liable for $667 million in damages in a case related to the Dakota Access Pipeline, a North Dakota judge has said the environmental organization will soon be ordered to make good on the damages. In court papers filed Tuesday, Judge James Gion granted a motion filed by Energy Transfer, the company that owns the pipeline, and said he intends to issue the final judgment on the case soon.

$345 million. Does Greenpeace have $345 million? Do Greenpeace's donors have $345 million to give away? Or, does Greenpeace have liability insurance? Will Greenpeace have liability insurance tomorrow? Will Greenpeace declare bankruptcy and arise like a green left wing phoenix in a new form? What interesting times...

Should have to pay the FULL $660 million. Wiping out Greenpeace would be a huge benefit to mankind.

Greenpeace will file bankruptcy if the judgement is upheld. Their assets, such as they are, can be seized. Liability insurance does not cover intentional acts. They can form another corporation under another name like Greenpeace Two or some such but I doubt they will find as many donors or backers the second time around. Good riddance.

"Greenpeace has said it cannot afford to pay the amount last determined by the judge." No sympathy for Green Peas, "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.". This reality is becoming the litany for why Leftism should be avoided. The cost for bad behavior becomes fatal to organizations. Happily, this is happening to the media (yet another delusional Leftist group) as well. The other aspect is, "the law is not what you think it should be, it is what is written and approved by legally responsible authorities.". Law by liberal whim is dying. It has been so deeply entrenched that it is taking a long time to kill it but it is being ripped out by the roots in many places.

Greenpeace probably got the money from US taxpayers via Medicaid or some other government scam. It seems like every organization that works against us found a way to siphon money from us. AOC and Bernie probably know.

What a racket, do $667M in damages and only be responsible for 50% of that by a judge. I guess it's using the old, "Your Honor, my client simply doesn't have that kind of money to pay the plaintiff, besides, they DO have insurance." This is yet another thing that's wrong in American society, which is that consequences are far "lighter" than the crimes. These days most crimes, save for tax avoidance, favor the perpetrator over his victims. It's the world upside-down, vis-à-vis Judeo-Christian morality and societal values. These days a 20-something yo person can commit brutal homicides and the State Prosecutor, fearing acquittal, were he to bring it as a death penalty case, opts to go down the, "life-in-prison" road, in order to guarantee a ✓ in the W-column. But then leftists in the State legislature pass a Bill allowing early release from prison of anyone over 50 years age who has already served 20 years. Over time the definition of "elderly" will slide ever more down the slope of degeneracy until, eventually, murderer's will be allowed back onto the street following the "ceremonial pinky-promise" with the parole board and attendant judge,,, We need to bring back the Mosaic Law's "Civil Code" for our societal "North Star." We could start by requiring that any Judge who releases a prisoner early, only for said prisoner to commit additional violent crime(s), then that Judge should be ceremonially defrocked and further required to commit seppuku, per Japanese tradition.

However, there has been no confirmation yet. Israel “assesses” that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was likely killed in an Israeli strike earlier today, Channel 12 says, citing unnamed Israeli sources.
