"Dramatic" FCC Action Against NFL And NBC

Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) is calling for federal action against the NFL and NBC following Sunday's explicit Super Bowl halftime show. In a post on X on Monday, Fine argued that the Spanish-language performance violated federal broadcast standards and should result in major penalties. (snip) Fine said Bad Bunny's performance (snip) would not be tolerated if the lyrics were performed in English (snip) "the broadcast would have been pulled down and fines would have been enormous." (snip) The requested action would target the NFL, NBC, and Bad Bunny. "Lock them up," Fine added.

Comments:

Was the "Bad Bunny" performance a shell game all along? Were our eyes focused on the Immigration Policy shell when we should have been paying attention to the shell labeled Policies and Practices? Have the NFL and Comcast/NBC expanded the boundaries of acceptable "sensitive language" for a Sunday afternoon television broadcast because "Bad Bunny's" otherwise dodgy lyrics were sung entirely in Spanish? Do Hispanic parents have to accept that their children will be exposed to language that would be verboten if spoken in English? While he's at it (the performance also featured sexually explicit dancing), Congressman Fine might also ask the FCC to reconsider the "bare backsides on Sunday afternoon broadcasting" precedent the NFL and Comcast/NBC established under the "Biden" FCC. This episode may finally force the NFL to ring down the curtain on Roger Goodell's "epater les bourgeois" act.

That performance was enough justification to cut loose Puerto Rico and give it independence.

Bad Bunny's entire porno performance was deliberately ugly and inappropriate for TV on any day. He knew exactly what he was doing. Porn in Spanish is still porn. Why do we need Puerto Rico? It is said to have a garbage problem. Don't send it here.

More self-promotion and time wasting by our useless Republicans. Do something useful like codifying Trump’s executive orders. How about legislating Trump’s immigration controls into law?How about cutting the deficit? Stop with the useless virtue signalling.

#9, it’s time there was some virtue shown and stood for in the United States Government. PDJT is thankfully leading the way with policies to help restore it. I say, it’s way past time for them to do all of those things you mentioned, and much more. So, whether it’s virtue signaling lip service, or coming from the depths of the heart, we need them to follow through with it for the sake of the foundational principles of our country.

No such thing as a performance by singers at the SB halftime shows. Always prior taping and then lipsynced the day of the show. Always. Never performed live. Never. So Youtube and nbc are utterly responsible for the content. Massive fines and loss of broadcast license must be the result.

As I gain in years, I am seeing even more clearly the wisdom of Our Creator's mandates to Israel, during their "Exodus Generation," as recorded in, "The Law." Most notable, are those things written regarding what to do with homosexuals, and other sexual deviants, once discovered and tried. The punishment was always death. Appeals would only be heard the day after. /s As you watch TV or read the newspaper you can see how much of our taxes are spent addressing criminals who are illegal invaders, or those who live openly as hedonists, often committing crimes of passion against their most recent "shack-up," or those who commit other crimes of immorality, regardless of nationality. Now imagine how much money would be saved if Biblical punishment was still our "Standard?"

I have a solution for the super bowl half time show. the best college marching bands are from black schools. the nfl could sponsor a season long competition among those bands, culminating at a final competition at the super bowl.

This is a tale of two federal judges -- one Trump appointee and one Biden appointee -- who separately sentenced two men for their attempted assassinations of a former (and future) president of the United States and a current Supreme Court justice. The Trump judge correctly followed the facts and law, sentencing the would-be Trump assassin to life; the Biden judge dangerously followed her political and ideological agenda, sentencing the would-be Kavanaugh assassin -- because he now pretends he's a woman -- to less than one-third of the recommended sentence.
