JPMorgan Chase employees fear defying CEO Jamie Dimon’s five-day return-to-office edict would amount to “career suicide,” according to a report detailing internal backlash to the mandate. Workers at the nation’s largest lender told the Financial Times they were bewildered by management’s insistence on a full-time return to company offices, though teams are scattered across the globe. “My team is spread out through two continents and three time zones,” said a JPMorgan staffer who signed a petition to bring back hybrid work.

What a concept!
Return to your office or get fired.

Guess what, JPMC staff - before I retired and pre-covid, I had direct reports scattered from Europe to Asia. And we did just fine reporting to our offices Monday through Friday while relying on video conferencing constantly with occasional site visits by me. Well-oiled communications. What a concept.

Let’s see, Chase gets beat out of how many millions of dollars because they gave immediate credit to Shaneka for a 20,000 check written by Trevon. Trevon’s check was no good but Shaneka still has the cash. Chase sends out 4 or 5 flyers a week to a business that has been closed for 8 years and the owner has been dead for 4 years. Tri Color automotive speaks for itself. Somehow I don’t think people going back to the office is going to solve Jamie’s problems.

WOW, I can feel the WHINE. I have never worked anywhere where there weren't arbitrary rules that management put in place. Work is NOT a democracy. Public whining, as in pushing this to the media, IS guaranteed career suicide. Private grumping might be tolerated, to a point. The only real choice you have is to change jobs.

Now, now, let's not be hasty about these poor souls who don't want to come back to the office. I mean, if I was making a six or seven figure salary I too would expect that I could do a great job in my fuzzy slippers and pajamas in my house. And as to the managers, sure you can manage your "team" from your basement on Zoom especially if there are 20, 30 or more people on the team. Sure you can. I've been retired for nearly 20 years, and I am constantly floored by the immaturity and ridiculous expectations of so-called professionals in the corporate world today. Get your butt into that office and if you don't like it, find another job. And quite frankly Jamie Dimon gave these losers years to get their act together and get back to the office. Fire them and get back to hiring people with a fire in their belly!

Would you complaining workers want some cheese with your WHINE? I had a couple of full-time work from home jobs, and I always dressed like I was going to the office. I had one hybrid job, but for the most part that meant I was driving a hybrid (Toyota) to work. From what I hear, people are more productive in the work office than they are in the home office. I don't blame Jamie at all for wanting his employees in the office full-time.

Whining ladies should have had to work where you hit the road morning and night to and from work, dress clothes, pantyhose five days a week. All the 30 somethings I know work from home and I heard one say she would NOT return to the office. Must be nice. Thankful for my 19 years of retirement. They need to keep working because I need my mailbox money.

The trucking industry is America’s arteries, hauling essential goods across the country to make our lives easier. Yet greed, human trafficking and illegal labor have clogged our nation’s arteries for years, resulting in the theft of wages from traditionally working-class US jobs to the deaths of innocent Americans caught in this systemic failure.[snip] “Starting around 2016, 2018 is really when the floodgates opened. The Obama administration passed a new rule in the FMCSA that got rid of the English-language requirement for truck drivers. They were importing the drivers that they wanted.”

The problem was the show’s conceit: It was a message of unity, inclusion, and togetherness — in a language that 85% of the population doesn’t understand and cannot speak. That’s not unity. That’s division. Lo siento, Bad Bunny and/or the NFL, but the underlying metrics of the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show didn’t make a lick of sense: Only about 14% to 18% of the U.S. population speaks fluent Spanish — which means, of course, that 86% to 82% do not. Only 14% of the NFL’s total audience is Hispanic. The number of Latinos/Hispanics who speak English exclusively is growing, not shrinking:
