Among the people running to fill the seat vacated by former GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of her former staffers, Jim Tully. Introducing himself on a local conservative radio show in January, he didn’t mention his connection to Greene until asked by the host.(snip)There’s a clear pattern in how the Republicans running to replace Greene address her resignation and her split with President Donald Trump. Those who are better known due to their prior involvement with local GOP politics strike a balance between showing loyalty to Trump and respect to Greene, while newcomers have less hesitation about taking shots at her.

There goes old Marge acting like a marxist, running her people to replace her so she never truly goes away. Marge didn't just split with PDT; she says MAGA is fake. She went out from us because she was never truly one of us. One thing conservatives do right is we mostly say goodbye to our losers when they bounce. Bye, Marge!

Unfortunately, she's turned into what James Carville might call, "trailer-court trash," by all her grandstanding. MTG seemingly appeared out of nowhere, eager to take on leftists, and that all appeared great, but she, like so many other, "hair on fire," House Republican frosh, became distracted by her own "profile", and soon came to believe she could accomplish much bigger things than is realistically possible, even attempting to take-on the sitting POTUS from her own Party. By her actions she's proven herself to have an arrogance like that of John McCain, and about as much instability. MTG will never regain credibility in politics on the national level, as a Republican, Independent, or Democrat. Her only hope now is to go run some local School Board, or perhaps run for Mayor in Smalltown, Georgia.

I am in her district. Unless there is a family issue or the swatting got to her, She should have stayed in for her 2 years and then not run. She just got re-elected and even if she disagreed with Trump stay in her office as my representative. To bail like this is unforgivable,

Are demographics really destiny? The 19th-century philosopher Auguste Comte, credited with the aphorism, emphasized that population trends are the most reliable predictors of a country's long-term trajectory. Comte actually said "demography" was destiny, which makes more sense, but the idea that a nation's future can be predicted by figuring out where people are moving is still a solid theory.[snip] there's a lot more to demographics than race or gender. There's the very real and consequential fact of people "voting with their feet." As it stands now, those votes are shifting massively toward red states.

The attention of those less politically minded is focused on the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy -- always fodder for the would-be Colombos and Miss Marples -- and the Olympics. Yet this week saw some victories for the administration along with some serious unfinished business. The ousted dictator Nicolás Maduro seems isolated, depressed, and devoid of funds sufficient to hire teams of lawyers to defend him. Any claims he might have for immunity seem destined to fail. The evidence establishes he was born in Colombia; his claim falls because only a native Venezuelan is entitled to hold the office of president.

Colorado must choose between wolves and cows 10 replies

I wrote a piece last year firmly supporting the reintroduction of wolves into Colorado to share the mountain landscape with cattle ranchers. I’ve changed my mind. My reasoning at the time was that wolves are part of the natural landscape here. They help the huge deer and elk herds by taking the old and weak out for dinner. As a lifelong hiker and mountaineer, I also liked the mere idea of having wolves in the Colorado mountains even if I never saw one (and I never have). After all, they’d been here for millions of years until they were eradicated in the 20th century. As for wolves’ occasional predation on cattle,
