Former Jets first-round draft pick Darron Lee was arrested and charged in Tennessee for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said Friday night.
Lee, who was selected by the Jets with the No. 20 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, is being charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Jail records viewed by The Post show that he is currently being held without bond and has a court date set for Wednesday.
The body of Lee’s girlfriend was found in a home near Ooltewah Elementary School in Hamilton County on Thursday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Say this in your best Indiana Jones knight voice: "They chose poorly". This is as close to the Super Bowl as I get. No game, and for God's sake no halftime crapshow. Watching IU Hoosiers win is all was all I needed to get me through until next college season.

Steelers seem to have a thug problem, too. The whole league, in fact. Apparently the way to Fight Racism™ is to have 2/3 of the players be black.

You can take them out of the ghetto and send them to college, and give them a Million dollar NFL contract, but it's awful hard to get that ghetto out of them.

Just because someone can play a particular game well, that does not mean that he or she is a good person.

According to another article, an affidavit stated “investigators documented multiple injuries to the victim, including a suspected stab wound to the abdomen, severe bruising to her head and eyes, bruises on her arms and torso, and what appeared to be a human bite mark on her shoulder.”

Typical entitled ghetto punk whose ego was bigger than his talent. What's a Super Bowl, an extra large serving of Cheerios?

When in high school (1973-ish) I met some of the Washington Redskin players at a charity basketball game.
I remember lineman Ron McDole and receiver Charlie Taylor in particular. Good guys, guys that a high school kid could look up to.
Of course, there are many players in the NFL, I think that most of them are good guys, but they do have some 'stinkers'. But, they are people. None of us are perfect, some are more imperfect than others. Sometimes it gets 'complicated' as to accept the person back, or not, after they have 'messed up'.
But..... my gripe is the way the Media reports this.
"FORMER NFL FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK CHARGED", etc, etc,
They do not mention the guy's name, but "FORMER NFL FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK".
It's been TEN YEARS since this guy was a "FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK". He has not played NFL football for what- 5 years.
He's been in serious trouble a couple of times.
But the Media report this ONLY because he's ex-NFL.... he was once a 'CELEBRITY'.
I recall, years ago, the brother of a local man who was an NFL CELEBRITY was arrested for drunk driving.
The headline in the local media: "SO-AND SO'S BROTHER ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING".
I won't mention the NFL player's name, as HE did not do anything bad, it was his stupid brother.
But the Media had to headline it with the CELEBRITY's name!
The Media is obsessed with CELEBRITIES.
In today's case, if this guy had not had, at one time, been an NFL player, it MAY have made the local paper, but never the National News.
Heck, if it had been Noo Yawk or Chit-Congo, they have so many murders that it probably would not even have made the local paper.

The high price of paying some arrogant athlete “disrespect.”
Humility is not a virtue in “da hood,” if can actually be a death sentence when the alpha-males come a bangin

Celebrities always warrant top headlines when they are involved in some misdeed or misfortune, like the rest of us are supposed to be intensely interested in them. A few months ago it was Rob Reiner. Look what has topped the news coverage for the past eight days. The rest of the world is supposed to stop when somebody like Alec Baldwin makes an amateur mistake. If they want to pay somebody to do tricks with a ball whether it's to move it over a line, drop it through a hoop or a hole in the ground, fine, but I don't need to hear about it.
