The early example phrase, "I mean, my last six therapy sessions have been basically all talking about this," tells us the bunch of weak weenies the writer interviewed for this article. Enough physical and mental individual strength and toughness for self-sufficiency are desired traits in a population, as far as I am concerned. I am reminded of the saying: "You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist's office."

Here's an example of why many people in Minnesota might be bat dung nuts. I had a young couple as neighbors about 10 years ago. They apparently were avid kayakers. They lived in the house for just under a year. When they were moving, I asked why they were leaving so soon. I was thinking a new job or something along those lines. Without even a pause, they both said, there aren't enough lakes to Kayak in Maryland. REALLY? That was the reason to move? The Chesapeake Bay isn't big enough for them? I never got to ask my next question which was, why did they move to Maryland in the first place? They moved from Wisconsin to Maryland and then moved to Minnesota.

Sometimes there seems to be a Blue Psychosis that falls over certain groups of people living in certain areas. Don't know if it is the weather, or the lack of quality sunshine for too much of the year, or a sense of entrapment from being surrounded by other such people. It seems to envelop the denizens of northern climes, like northern Europe, Canada. I feel it every time I visit friends and relatives in Seattle, and it was there when I lived years in Wisconsin and Ontario. It's like a cloak that closes around one at times, making you unhappy to be where you are, a touch irritated that you can't escape. Maybe Seasonal Affective Disorder is more powerful and pervasive than we believe, and maybe other factors in the environment, such a social conflict, accentuate or trigger it, like pestering a person who is depressed can set them off. Just maybe, in a way, they are a little crazy...or a little "pre-crazy", and some a little volatile.
