I really wish he wouldn’t do this. It’s market manipulation, like subsidized student loans. Just keeps the prices propped up. The housing market needs a correction, especially in the wake of Covid and all the funny money pumped into the economy in the last few years. Artificially suppressing interest rates just postpones this and will leave taxpayers holding the bag again with another Fannie/Freddie bailout.

#1 is correct. The problem for new home buyers in a place like San Diego isn't the 6% interest on a mortgage - it's the $200K down payment needed for the purchase of an average starter home.

This could help people that are close to buying now, but in Florida the insurance companies need to be brought under control and property taxes have also become ridiculous. All three need to be addressed.

I can't wait for BlackRock to be renamed RedRock as a better reflection of their Corporate Balance Sheet as a result of the President's actions to disallow Institutional Investors from buying up single-family residential properties. Their stock took a major hit last Monday as a result of the President's comments over last weekend. We have 3 more years of "winning" to go!

Do they even build starter homes anymore? All I see where I live in Virginia (wish I could move out) are huge homes: 4+ bedrooms, blah blah.

Self-deportation of Illegal Aliens will help with rents for our poorest. Stopping Blackrock and Chinese home purchases will also help a lot. I agree that the market forces should not be tampered with, as we found out in 2008.
