Mayor Karen Bass and her DEI hires at the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) were caught red-handed covering up their and the state's response to the deadly and devastating Palisades Fire by changing or erasing the records in the city's official after-action report. The deletions and distortions were so severe that the author of the after-action report requested that his name be removed from the publication.
The cover-up and retconning of the report, however, will never cover up the 12 deaths, thousands of lives upended, billions lost, and thousands of homes and businesses wiped out by that Palisades firestorm on Jan. 7, 2025.

So, with all this information (which I must assume has been accessible to the appropriate people for some time) apparently done nothing to change the circumstances ie fire lots of people, and put many in jail for total corruption and incompetence. Be nice if something positive came from this terrible failure of LA officials. Too bad the homeowners and renters who lost so much cannot sue individually all those who are responsible, even in a small way, for this needless disaster.

I guess it's like living in MN. No matter what happens, no matter how bad it stinks, no matter if it is illegal or unethical they will continue to vote for a D. I don't get it and I can't explain it. Even with proof they just pooh pooh the whole situation. NYC will soon find out what it will cost them too.

#2 they are brainwashed. I see it in my own clan. "my great granddaddy was a democrat, my granddaddy was a democrat, my daddy was a democrat...".
They actually believe if something good happens in their lives it is because of the democrats and anything bad was caused by a republican. They are very proud, will never admit to making a mistake and are adamant that their covid "vaccinations" and boosters saved their lives.
I woukd question my gene pool but I know it is nurture and not nature.

Why am I in no way surprised at anything that goes on in Kalifornia. The idiot mayor can screw up anything with no problem.

Black women like Mayor Bass and her overpaid fire chief as well as Muriel Bowser and her police chief in DC can alter the records of their crimes and incompetence but they can't change the disastrous outcome of the actual crimes. People died and people lost millions of dollars. The victims can all thank DEI.

It's something wrong with voters neural connections...that is the only way to explain it...they are brainwashed, just like my conservative daughter turned into a flaming liberal in University...she's even hauled my two grandaughters to a damned Pride parade....

The strumpet is utterly incompetent. If you have to party or go to Afrika on the taxpayer's dime you know what this crook will choose. The dumb people in CA will vote for garbage like this again.

How very very stupid of them. To take an assessment written by a qualified person, bastardize it to make themselves look innocent, then publish it like the original author wouldn’t notice. It wasn’t difficult for the media to get a copy of the original. This goes beyond stupidity. I don’t even know what to call it. Their obvious intent was to head off a firestorm of litigation against the city. It will be worse now.

I don't know that this is the case in the Palisades but allow me to mention what is happening in a number of towns across the country, mine included, and see if this fits. When property taxes were allowed to inflate with property values, people voted to limit the increase in taxable value to a calculated inflation rate. The alternative was to have older, maybe retired people, lose their homes to taxes. In Michigan this was called the Headlee Amendment. In my town, that means that homes that have been owned for 20 plus years, by long term residents, have a tax rate half or less of what the same property would have if sold. Further, it's obvious that good locations that are desirable, with a high rise or large apartment building would bring in tax revenues many times what the long term resident pays. If you're a (greedy) city administrator, you can't wait for the older residents to die off or sell their properties and move to nursing homes. But a city clearing fire? What an opportunity. But how to get those residents to move? How to further clear the field for the high rises? Why, just don't approve permits. (Former) residents will be FORCED to find housing elsewhere, to sell off the land to afford the move, and voila. In my town it's being forced with rezoning but to do the deed, a fire works. Not saying that stupidity and sloth weren't the cause of the fire. But Greed too easily explains the lack of permitting.
