Mayor Karen Bass and her DEI hires at the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) were caught red-handed covering up their and the state's response to the deadly and devastating Palisades Fire by changing or erasing the records in the city's official after-action report. The deletions and distortions were so severe that the author of the after-action report requested that his name be removed from the publication. The cover-up and retconning of the report, however, will never cover up the 12 deaths, thousands of lives upended, billions lost, and thousands of homes and businesses wiped out by that Palisades firestorm on Jan. 7, 2025. So, with all this information (which I must assume has been accessible to the appropriate people for some time) apparently done nothing to change the circumstances ie fire lots of people, and put many in jail for total corruption and incompetence. Be nice if something positive came from this terrible failure of LA officials. Too bad the homeowners and renters who lost so much cannot sue individually all those who are responsible, even in a small way, for this needless disaster.

I guess it's like living in MN. No matter what happens, no matter how bad it stinks, no matter if it is illegal or unethical they will continue to vote for a D. I don't get it and I can't explain it. Even with proof they just pooh pooh the whole situation. NYC will soon find out what it will cost them too.

#2 they are brainwashed. I see it in my own clan. "my great granddaddy was a democrat, my granddaddy was a democrat, my daddy was a democrat...". They actually believe if something good happens in their lives it is because of the democrats and anything bad was caused by a republican. They are very proud, will never admit to making a mistake and are adamant that their covid "vaccinations" and boosters saved their lives. I woukd question my gene pool but I know it is nurture and not nature.

Black women like Mayor Bass and her overpaid fire chief as well as Muriel Bowser and her police chief in DC can alter the records of their crimes and incompetence but they can't change the disastrous outcome of the actual crimes. People died and people lost millions of dollars. The victims can all thank DEI.

How very very stupid of them. To take an assessment written by a qualified person, bastardize it to make themselves look innocent, then publish it like the original author wouldn’t notice. It wasn’t difficult for the media to get a copy of the original. This goes beyond stupidity. I don’t even know what to call it. Their obvious intent was to head off a firestorm of litigation against the city. It will be worse now.

I don't know that this is the case in the Palisades but allow me to mention what is happening in a number of towns across the country, mine included, and see if this fits. When property taxes were allowed to inflate with property values, people voted to limit the increase in taxable value to a calculated inflation rate. The alternative was to have older, maybe retired people, lose their homes to taxes. In Michigan this was called the Headlee Amendment. In my town, that means that homes that have been owned for 20 plus years, by long term residents, have a tax rate half or less of what the same property would have if sold. Further, it's obvious that good locations that are desirable, with a high rise or large apartment building would bring in tax revenues many times what the long term resident pays. If you're a (greedy) city administrator, you can't wait for the older residents to die off or sell their properties and move to nursing homes. But a city clearing fire? What an opportunity. But how to get those residents to move? How to further clear the field for the high rises? Why, just don't approve permits. (Former) residents will be FORCED to find housing elsewhere, to sell off the land to afford the move, and voila. In my town it's being forced with rezoning but to do the deed, a fire works. Not saying that stupidity and sloth weren't the cause of the fire. But Greed too easily explains the lack of permitting.

Jimmy Kimmel has been slammed as 'out of touch' and a 'joke' after it was revealed that he would be delivering an alternative Christmas Message about fascism to British audiences. The comedian is set to lecture Britons on the rise of authoritarianism on Channel 4's version of the traditional speech, which will run counter to the annual address given by King Charles on Christmas Day. Kimmel reportedly decided to use the speech to poke fun at 2025 as a 'great year' from a 'fascism perspective', in reference to his show being taken off the air for comments he made about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Islam is simply incompatible with Western civilization, and that couldn’t be more evident considering the 2025 Christmas and Hanukkah season. We get it rubbed in our faces, time and time again, with one massacre after another. These aren’t just lone gunmen who go nuts. These are organized terrorism cells. Bondi Beach, a massacre allegedly committed by two Muslims (father and son), is only the latest example. San Bernardino, California was the scene of a similar massacre by two Muslims (husband and wife). Nineteen Muslims, backed up by the wealth of other Muslims, gave us 9/11. Only Islam commands its followers to “kill the infidels.”

Intersectionality does not get the attention that Critical Race Theory and Diversity Equity and Inclusion receive, but it’s the source for CRT and DEI. It’s the mother’s milk of group identity theory. Intersectionality received attention about a decade ago when “intersectional feminism” was a thing, but largely faded away from scrutiny as it’s offspring, CRT and DEI captured education and society, particularly post-George Floyd. But it never really went away. Intersectionality was repurposed as the foundation for attacking Israel by building racial and ethnic groups identity coalitions. This photo I took in 2019 at a Cornell student assembly vote (which failed) on an anti-Israel boycott resolution

The wholesale adoption of diversity, equity and inclusion ideology in almost all our major institutions has done untold damage to American society. It was advertised as something noble — a way to open opportunities for women and minorities who had been unfairly denied them. But through a combination of bureaucratic laziness and political malice, DEI soon became something approaching a ban on hiring millennial white males at the beginning of their careers. The harm goes far beyond the wreckage it imposed on those young men. “Affirmative action,” of course, has been around for decades, and anyone who’s worked at a major institution in America, whether government, corporate or academic, has seen

Not too many years ago, the bar was one of the pillars of the Republican Party. Abraham Lincoln was the patron saint of lawyers; my father had a lovely portrait of Lincoln, painted on wood, in his law office for many years. But times have changed: now, a large majority of lawyers are Democrats. (Their secretaries, on the other hand, are more likely to be Republicans.) This is part of the broader reshuffling of our political alignment. Lawyers have become Democrats, not because they have been reading Marx or Foucault, or because Barack Obama made brilliant arguments (just kidding), but rather because they realized that it is the Democrats who
