Slain Hollywood icon Rob Reiner and his wife were found with their throats slit — with their daughter telling cops that a “dangerous” relative should be a suspect, according to a report Monday.
The legendary director and his wife of 36 years, Michele Singer Reiner, were found Sunday afternoon by their daughter, Romy — who immediately told cops the killer was another family member, TMZ reported.
Their horrified daughter quickly told investigators that a relative “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous,” sources told the outlet, suggesting it came during a heated argument.

In NYP's piece, Nick Reiner looks like he is possessed. Drugs aside, an exorcism may have been the only recourse.

What a horrific way to die, at the hands of your child. As much as I disliked his politics, he did not deserve this. Obviously the son is mentally ill. My sympathies to the family.

IMHO "Throat slit" is not a crime of passion. That is just cold blooded murder. I hope he is dealt with to the maximum extent of the law before he decides he is a Clinton and cannot be held accountable.

What is Pro-Life?
Though I was not Rob Reiner’s friend,
I cannot celebrate his tragic end,
For so precious is Life
That for Rob and his wife
I’d have laid down my own to defend.

Another brutal throat slashing in Brentwood. Good thing OJ is gone, or he would have gotten the blame for this. Did anyone happen to see a white Ford Bronco in the area?

"because they’re “dangerous,”
A careless pronoun slip? The drug addiction and homelessness could have been red herrings, or just part of a complicated mixture of psychological issues..

Let’s not indulge in family-related conspiracy theories. It may well have been an Islamic-fascist terrorist attack! /s

Reiner was a vile, pathetic caricature of a bipedal whose Hollywood/Brentwood parenting boomeranged big time. It is equally pathetic to read little eulogies glossing over lives squandered with hypocritical, monosyllabic
sympathies. "They was quiet boys..never hurt nobody. It's such a tragedy."
Hear the silence and ....

Is it inappropriate to now say son, instead using "family member". Can these people talk?

In all the photos, Nick has crazy eyes, looks unhinged. Scary.
How sad that he wasn't put into a locked nuthouse long ago.

We had a professor at my university, who was a congregant at our Lutheran church, who had a husband and one child - a mentally ill son.
Her husband eventually divorced the professor, and her son, schizophrenic in his 30s, butchered her.
He is incapable, under the law, to be found guilty. And he may never stand trial.
It sounds as if the Reiners were similarly situated.
Grieve for the surviving Reiner children.

Re #11, a certain small percentage of young males somehow do not survive, mentally, the Great Brain Rewiring which happens in about the 20th year. I was amazed to think back, at age 20, on the choices that my 17 and 18 year old self had made, and fortunately survived. Not all my HS friends survived HS and the first year or two of college.
It seems that some young men's brains just fail to function and they go off into complete insanity. Then they become violent. Gabby Giffords was the victim of one of these, said to be a 'great kid' by people who knew him a few years earlier. Inexplicable, but very, very real, and these dangerously, violently insane must be identified and locked away to protect the rest of us, but most often, their family members.
We had a young man murder his 'caregiver' and mother here in the suburbs of KC a few years back. He had been getting more insane, more violent, the mother needed help to 'handle him' and refused to commit him to an asylum. He's there now, she and her hired assistant are dead.
Sad, but it must be recognized and dealt with correctly.

I don't care who you are, I would never wish this on anyone. Kids killing their parents or parents killing their children would be one of the worst nightmares any family would have.

Addictions open the door for a great many things, all of them bad.
Prayers for this poor child. His life is over.

From my observations, it is quite the challenge to raise a responsible mature child in a home of wealth. It can be done, but it takes more effort than the middle income family, where kids know they have to work for a living when they grow up. There are many exceptions of course (Trump's kids come to mind), but just think of people you know and you will see the trend.
However, when you add to that situation, being raised with far left dogma and no spiritual guidance, the mix can get very toxic. Add in drug abuse or trans choices and you can end up with a nightmare on Elm Street.
