Boston Archdiocese calls for removal of
‘ICE was here’ sign from nativity scene

The Boston Archdiocese has condemned a Church’s controversial nativity display featuring an “ICE was here” sign in a Christmas manger scene that had Jesus, Mary and Joseph missing. The anti-ICE nativity scene was placed outside the St. Susanna Catholic church in Dedham, Mass., a suburb outside Boston. The display also had a sign with the contact number for a group that monitors immigration operations. The Archdiocese of Boston blasted the display as “divisive political messaging” and called for it to be removed, saying it violated Catholic doctrine.

Comments:

I'm not always happy with the USCCB, but it's good to see that they can occasionally do the right thing. I doubt that the Archdiocese would have condemned this if O'Malley was still in charge.

First of all, the Holy Family were NOT illegal aliens. They left the town of Nazareth, traveled to Bethlehem because they had to pay the taxes. They were citizens of Isreal, not foreigners. Second, it would not be ICE that was looking for them, it was HEROD. if there was a Federal agency after illegals, would they perhaps be after the WISE MEN, that traveled from the East. Were they in the Israel legally? I myself, would NEVER stay in a parish that has a pastor that stupid.

I used to respect the Catholic Church -- no longer. With this kind of idiocy and the last two Popes, they no longer earn my respect.

Catholic religious leaders should stick to Catholic religious dogma, and not be commenting on laws and the enforcement of immigration control laws passed by national governments across the world. Remember as some things belong to established religion and God, other things like worldly national borders and immigration control laws are properly within the realms of National Governments, In other words, Caesar!

From Nazareth to Bethlehem is about 93 miles. All that was in the Roman Empire. From Nazareth to Egypt was over 400 miles and that was in the Roman Empire too. The Holy Family were never refugees.

That’s a refreshing surprise. Pope Leo would probably applaud the display and visit it for a photo op.

If I hjad been a member of that Church they would not have had to wait for the Archdiocese to come down on them. The Priest there would have needed bed rest when I finished speaking to him.

Glad to see the hierarchy doing the right thing. As for the priest...from the picture he doesn't look like a priest. A bit crazed, sodomist, possessed, or both. Pray for his conversion or removal.

A pediatrician has been fired over a vile post suggesting that the more than 80 killed in the horrific Texas floods — including dozens of kids — were President Trump supporters who got “what they voted for.” Dr. Christina B. Propst drew widespread scorn following the disparaging, since-deleted post under her old Facebook username, Chris Tina, according to Mediaite.“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry,” Probst wrote in the now-viral post. “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”

An awkward on-air silence occurred during ESPN’s broadcast of the Indiana Fever-Las Vegas Aces game on Sunday after analyst Rebecca Lobo said, “That’s what makes America great.” Lobo’s comment was in reference to saying she disagreed with officials making a foul call in the final minute of the Aces’ 89-81 win over the Fever. “They disagree with you,” play-by-play announcer Pam Ward said to her partner Lobo. “They do, and I disagree with them,” Lobo responded. “And that’s fine. That’s what makes America great, right Pam Ward?”

Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez and a man she allegedly fled from Grapevine Lake with were arrested Tuesday after a standoff with police at their Dallas-area home, according to Fox 4. Gonzalez is suspected of fatally striking 18-year-old Ava Moore with a jet ski as she kayaked on the lake Sunday evening, and then fleeing from the scene in the man’s car as bystanders tried in vain to save the teen.

The memo warned that a huge influx was possible given Biden’s approach, a backlog from the Trump administration, and COVID hardships.
