The state of Illinois is about to make it possible for illegal aliens to access state and local student financial aid. Governor J.B. Pritzker has already signed the law and it goes into effect on January 1st of 2026. This is happening as the Trump Justice Department is suing various states over this exact issue. Student financial aid that is meant for American citizens should not be going to people who are in the country illegally.
