Rosie O’Donnell says her daughter is holding President Donald Trump personally responsible for their relocation to Ireland and for what she sees as his broader damage to the country. "My daughter is now saying, ‘Damn him. Damn Trump,’" O’Donnell said during an appearance on "The Jim Acosta Show." She recalled her daughter pounding on a table in anger and stating, "He made us move for our own safety … and now he’s destroying the country." O’Donnell acknowledged the challenge of shielding her child from political upheaval while still confronting the realities of their situation. "She lives here. She hears what

A New York pastor surprised churchgoers with the extraordinary revelation that he is transitioning into a woman and will now use she/her pronouns. Reverend Phil Phaneuf, 51, who was born male, shared that she has been undergoing a gender transition with her congregation at North Chili United Methodist Church (UMC) during Sunday service. 'I get to announce with joy that I am transitioning. I am affirming and saying to all of you that I am transgender,' the veteran pastor, wearing a rainbow stole, declared this past Sunday. ,

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold escalated her standoff with the Trump administration this week, rejecting a request for the state’s full, unredacted voter file. “We will not comply with the Trump Department of Justice’s request for Coloradans’ sensitive voting information. The DOJ can take a hike; it does not have a legal right to the information. Colorado will not help Donald Trump undermine our elections and hurt the American people.” Colorado’s refusal comes as the DOJ expands lawsuits into at least 14 states for denying similar requests.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the senior senator from New York and current Senate minority leader who certainly knows a thing or two about dangerous rhetoric and political threats, released a statement Monday afternoon alleging that "multiple bomb threats" has been made to three of his New York offices.
According to Schumer, law enforcement officials informed him that his offices in Rochester, Binghamton, and Long Island had been targeted with bomb threats from an email account with, conveniently enough, references to MAGA and the "rigged" 2020 presidential election.

For as little as $1, you can dim the sun — just a tiny bit — to save the world from climate change. At least, that’s the promise sold by a California start-up called Make Sunsets. Your dollar will pay for founder Luke Iseman to drive a Winnebago RV into the hills half an hour outside Saratoga, California, to release a balloon loaded with sulfur dioxide, an air pollutant normally spewed by volcanic eruptions. He and his 1,000 paying customers hope the balloon will burst in the stratosphere, releasing particles that will block sunlight and cool the planet. A better-funded competitor, Stardust, has raised $75 million

DENVER (KDVR) — There’s going to be a new bathhouse in the city. Picture the communal bathhouses that date back centuries, but modern with an urban garden with saunas, mineral pools and even a geothermal well to heat the tubs. That’s the plan for the area around Osage Street and Colfax Avenue. It’s known as Coba Bathhouse and was created with the idea of bringing people back together. Colorado locals Memphis Orion, the CEO, Jon Medina, the CCO and Adam Lerner, the chief strategic officer are shaping the bathhouse to do just that.

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani tapped a convicted felon who served seven years for a string of armed robberies targeting New York City taxi drivers to advise him on the "criminal legal system."
Mysonne Linen, a rapper-turned-social justice activist, will serve on Mamdani's "criminal legal system committee," 1 of 17 committees that Mamdani created to help transition into his administration. Mamdani said the appointees "will be tasked with not only making personnel recommendations but policy recommendations."

Republican Matt Van Epps won a nationally watched special election in Tennessee for a seat in the U.S. House on Tuesday, maintaining his party’s grip on the district with help from President Donald Trump.
A military veteran and former state general services commissioner from Nashville, Van Epps defeated Democratic state Rep. Aftyn Behn to represent the 7th Congressional District.
Behn made it a relatively close race in an overwhelmingly Republican district that Trump carried by 22 percentage points in 2024. Behn ran up a huge margin in Davidson County, which is the most Democratic county in the district and home to Nashville. But Van Epps carried the rest of the district,

The mass shooting in California that killed four people, including three kids, erupted just as a toddler was cutting cake at her 2nd birthday party, according to her mom — who said the shooters “deserve to go to hell.”
The birthday girl’s mother, Patrice Williams, said partygoers dropped to the floor as soon as the gunshots rang out inside the packed banquet hall in Stockton on Saturday.
“I actually thought it was my balloons popping. It was gunshots,” Williams said.
“It was just unexpected. I don’t know what happened, and I’m just so shocked and lost.”

The facts are still emerging through the fog of war (or is it the fog of law enforcement, or the fog of antiterrorism?). Sometimes people (including myself) draw conclusions on the basis of incomplete information, so let’s start with what’s really known.
Our military launched another missile attack on a drug-smuggling fast boat. The boat burst into flames and was dead in the water but did not immediately sink. On-scene surveillance showed that not all of the 11 crew members were killed. One or two men were seen moving in the water.

The Biden Administration okayed Special Counsel Jack Smith's subpoenaing congressional phone records knowing the subpoenas were unconstitutional, emails released last week revealed. That same trove of documents also established the illegality of the nondisclosure orders issued by the courts to prevent the telecommunication providers from alerted [sic.] the members of Congress of the unconstitutional seizure of their toll records.
