For months, Donald Trump warned New Yorkers against electing Zohran Mamdani as mayor, referring to him as a “communist lunatic.” Mamdani, meanwhile, called Trump a “despot.” All of that was put aside in an extraordinary Oval Office get-together Friday, the first face-to-face meeting between the two men. Trump, who sought to kneecap Mamdani during the campaign, was exceedingly complimentary of the self-described democratic socialist, while Mamdani repeatedly talked up his hope that he and the president could work together to lower costs for New Yorkers. “I met with a man who’s a very rational person,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office following the private

They are not new best friends making plans to go to the next NFL game together. But Trump added some soft soap and faked Mamdani out and shut the media down without a blink. He played nice. When Mamdani F up NYC, and he will, Trump will be there to comment and set an example of how socialists/communists will screw over our citizens and our government. It will be a teaching moment. Trump has the upper hand and he is just keeping his powder dry, for now.

To me,it seems that Mamdani was given an education as to how things are going to be. He learned a few things on housing construction and how buses can’t be free and that most of all, he, Trump, controls the money. I always think back to that Ned Beatty scene in Network, the speech as to how things really are. Let’s see what happens.

Trump was brilliant -- seated in his chair like the boss, while Momdani stood by his side like an underling. The Trump-haters were no doubt hoping for Trump to be combative and full of insults, but instead he came off as magnanimous. Meanwhile, Mamdani, whose supporters were hoping he would be the combative warrior they saw during the campaign, came off looking like a docile, compliant little lamb -- which completely tarnishes his "tough guy" reputation. It is possible that in their 45 minutes behind closed doors, Trump showed Mamdani documentary proof that Mamdani had falsified his citizenship application by omitting ties to terrorist groups, and told him that unless he plays ball Trump's way, the Feds will be coming after him and sending him back to Uganda. Mamdani was the one who requested the meeting. You can bet Trump was not going to waste that opportunity.

It appears that there may be a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine in the works, which could bring an end to the Russo-Ukrainian War, which has been going on since 2022, when Russia invaded eastern Ukraine. This war could be said to have been ongoing, in fact, since Russia's annexation of the Crimean Peninsula and seizure of the port of Sevastopol in 2014. Ukrainian officials are reporting that talks have been held between Ukrainian, Russian, and American officials, and the "core elements" of a peace deal have been agreed upon. Ukraine has agreed to the core elements of a peace proposal brokered by the Trump administration, with some details

The Federal Medical Center, Carswell is a formerly women-only prison in Texas that currently houses several men who identify as women. FMC Carswell recently housed dozens of people who identify as trans or intersex, according to a federal report. Female inmates have for years petitioned the state to separate trans-identifying men from women’s private spaces.

Then, at the very end, he asked the only question that really matters: “So how do we fix it?” Not describe it or rant about it. Fix it. My answer, essentially, was, "It's complicated." There isn’t a bumper-sticker answer. And there certainly isn’t a partisan one. The problem goes much deeper than illegal immigration, though illegal immigration made it far worse.
