Chicago City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin announced Wednesday that she will refuse to invest taxpayer money in the safest, most secure, most loss-proof investment in world history: U.S. Treasuries. She told aldermen that it's a way to push back on “the authoritarian regime of Donald Trump.” I'm sure she'll push back on Trump just as soon as Chicago buys U.S. Treasuries. The city currently doesn't own any. “I’m going to use that voice that our citizens gave me to say loud and clear to Donald Trump:

"Holy Moly. And this person is running for Congress? Not only that, if she didn't know that U.S. Treasuries have no connection to Donald Trump the person, I shudder to think what happened to Chicagoans' tax dollars while she's been the Chicago City Treasurer."

MC-E, as I thought. Black on white. Meanwhile, enjoy the suck of losing multiple millions of dollars on bad investments. I'm sure that your starving brothers and sisters in the 'hoods will appreciate your handy work when they discover their SNAP cards don't work anymore.

I knew (but verified) her skin color. Yup. I did not have to check that she was also challenged IQ-wise - seeing as how she is exceedingly reckless with the public's money.

The erstwhile treasurer must know that she has a few solid alternatives to US Treasuries. The bonds of the states of Texas and Florida come to mind. Those of Illinois -- hell, no! Ditto for California, New York, etc. etc.

She could be sued because she is in violation of her fiduciary responsibility. But then again , she could buy penny stocks instead of AT&T if she chose. These Democrats are hot head losers, their hatred of Trump is so deep. It scares me because they will come out in droves to vote in their ilk.

Perhaps the US shouldn't invest any capital in Chicago either, nor the entirety of Illinois, for that matter.

Good idea. Instead, go into the city and ask for Louie the Loan Shark. The vig will be high, but there is almost no paperwork.

Another three-name female lunatic. Do the democrats ever do anything that involves logic and efficiency and is not guided by emotion? No wonder Chicago is sinking into the cesspool.

Hyphenated names are like Burberry scarves or Gucci bags. They announce: I am SO much better than you! Envy me...but keep your distance. Someone should tell this moron that a group of Nigerian royalty are selling shares in a new gold mine. That's where your peeps' money should be invested.

The hyphenated names are an attempt to sound special. I guess they picked it up from England where they use it to show that both families are important members of the peerage. In black mothers' case, the women probably don't even know the biological "baby daddy's" last name.
You also have them naming their kids as Dontavious and Lakeisha which just tells HR not to hire them unless they need to check a DEI box.
