Across three-fifths of the United States, the Trump administration has found half a million people receiving SNAP benefits twice over and 5,000 dead people receiving them. In deep blue states, the fraud is probably much worse.
It is important to clarify that 20+ states out of the 50 did not comply with the federal government's request for information on SNAP beneficiaries, likely because they are trying to hide how many illegal aliens are illicitly receiving food stamps. So the horrifying numbers revealed by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins on Laura Ingraham's Fox News show, The Ingraham Angle, are actually incomplete, and will probably be much higher

Amen to what the Lucianne commenter wrote above. Or maybe the entire SNAP program should be abolished and then start all over with a new plan that people have to sign up for and prove they need the assistance. Welfare programs that were set up to help the truly needy have been abused to the point it makes no sense not to start over with a clean slate. Taxpayers shouldn't have to be paying for help for people who can't verify their need for it. Bring back DOGE and sic them on the SNAP, Medicaid, and Obamacare programs.

I hate to say this, but nothing is going to change. The same people that are cashing illegitimate SS checks, from people that are 200 years old, are the same people that are probably getting SNAP benefits. They are a protected class and nothing will ever be done to root out the problem. Jim Jordan in the House and John Kennedy in the Senate, will bluster and pontificate, and make all kinds of cute comments, Bondi will get on TV, along with Mz. Lindsey, and tell you what they're going to do, which in reality, is nothing. Have been watching this government BS for too long. Sorry for the rant, but I don't believe anyone is looking out for the American taxpayer.

Dem states refuse to give access to their SNAP records, so they can't be checked for ftaud.
This is the tip of a huge fraud iceberg.

The woman in charge of the Snap program asked every state to give her the list of people in their state who is on Snap. The 29 states are mostly red states. Most blue states have refused to give her the list of SNAP recipients in their state. I wonder why?

So, the chumps are the people working hard, paying their bills and paying their taxes, huh?
I would say to any state that did not provide the list that they are not eligible to receive any SNAP until they comply.
I am confident they know the system is ripe with fraud and abuse.
This is contributing to the deficit each year and adding to our national debt too.

SHUT ALL OF THEM OUT, then Reverify 100%, implement checks to assure the CROOKS don't come back, if they do they can't get a cent in the future no matter how much whining they do!

SNAP recipients are to be re-evaluated each year.
The main expense to the program is the overhead. The overlords complain that they have too many 'clients' to keep track of. It takes too much work to document fraud.

With no penalty attached to defrauding the government, why wouldn't they try it?
The worst that happens to them is that their theft gets stopped....for a little while.

It’s time to kill this whole damn program! It’s been nothing but a scam from the start. If we got rid of the Department of Agriculture (another useless government agency) we could get rid of not only the SNAP program, but the school lunch program - ANOTHER scam!

Without the ability to do audits, the Dept of Agriculture should assume that ALL SNAP recipients are fraudulent and cut off ALL funds to states that won't respond with the necessary information.

The Democrats will fight the uncovering of mass fraud in the SNAP program, along with fixing it, as the Democrats know that the vast majority of the fraudsters, if they vote, are Democrat voters!

#3 hit it on the head. There is a ton of fraud in SNAP. In my opinion, what needs to be done to shake up the system, hold up they funding until those states open their books. Congress needs to put language in the next budget that the states are required to open their books for audit reviews to determine accurate distribution of funds. If the state chooses to refuse the audit, then funds will be withheld until the state cooperates. Make the states pay. Eventually, the state's SNAP records will be available for review.

Its very simple, STOP all benefits to the states which do not comply with the order! For those who initially refuse, make them also provide PROOF beyond ANY doubt that their numbers are correct!

Honest working people file income tax returns every year. Why shouldn't the parasites have to file stating their needs? An iPhone and the beauty salon are not needs. Also, I've been wondering how they afford the tickets for Carnival Cruises and Disney World.

THIS kind of accountability is what has been needed for DECADES!
Just like the 'plunder and deceit" going on with the slush fund of money laundering back to CERTAIN politicians using the public's money to get kickbacks through USAID. this crack in the door shows us a hint of accountability that will ALMOST NEVER be undertaken to fully OPEN door, turn on the lights and see the cockroaches and rats scatter!

For most of this country's history, there were no government funded (state or federal) welfare programs and masses of poor people were not dropping dead from starvation. But thank you FDR and your New Deal and all this public aid programs and here we are, 90 years later and it's no longer temporary public assistance through the dignity of public work but sit around and expect free stuff. And yet, the party of Trump cannot even eliminate one program. Hearing Trump and Secretary Rollins talk about the shutdown not allowing poor people to get food aid - I understand why they said that - but it just reinforces the notion that all of these welfare recipients are truly needed when most are not. Every town in this country, regardless of its size, and there are at least two in my small Virginia town, have food banks. And you just drive up and request your share of food. No questions asked.
We don't need the Democratic Socialists to take this country over, we are doing it to ourselves through state and federal programs.

Are you an ex-felon?
Are you a current felon?
Are you a person who is in this country after overstaying your Visa, either Work, or Student?
Are you an illegal invader who was given a SSN by the Autopen Administration?
Are you an immigrant who has been on welfare programs since naturalization?
Are you a person no longer capable registering a pulse?
>> Then NO SNAP for YOU!

If banks must comply, why can’t SNAP?
And most churches have food banks too!

They ought to make EVERY SNAP recipient reapply every January 1st to make sure that only truly needy AMERICAN CITIZENS are getting this aid. This would also be a chance to reevaluate each recipient and set work requirements for those who are able-bodied, AKA the "lazy class" of recipients.
