The Schumer Shutdown has been going on for more than a month now.
It started on October 1, and the Senate won't even be able to have another vote on it until Tuesday at the earliest.
The extended shutdown is raising concerns, particularly about funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and how it may be impacting air travel. Fox News Channel's Maria Bartiromo asked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Sunday if he thought the government would open this week, as the shutdown was "seriously impacting the U.S. economy." Cruz had an intelligent take on when it might be over, and why.

Just another power play by the Communists, and another reason for term limits of all elected officials...

Simply put, our so-called representative government does not represent us. Look for another round of inflation. They raised the debt limit without doing enough to curtail the debt. Who does our representative government actually represent?

At some point, the dems are going to grab ahold of something and declare victory. The propaganda media will hype it up. Since there is nothing the dems have done in years that has been praise worthy, it will be a Theater of the Absurd. The dems will pose and primp over accomplishing nothing positive, for themselves or anyone else. Their favorability ratings will drop further. They will ramp up their anger factor, desperately casting around to find a "win" somewhere but they will continue on a loser arc. Their actions fit the classic amorphic definition of insanity: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.".
The dem strategy seems to be doing ANYTHING to mark time until the Republicans make a major misstep or the public gets tired of them. That doesn't seem to be working very well but the dems seem to have nothing else to offer beyond in your face anger and nastiness.

So giving away tax dollars is to help the economy? Well where is the breaking point on that plan.
If 80% of citizens sit down and put their feet up will the economy still be booming? 60%? 40%?

I expect they will end it right after the election; win OR lose. If they win, they won't need it anymore. If they lose, they must begin the humiliating, but relentless crawl back to power.

The democrats have placed all of their eggs in one basket by relying upon the stupidity and delusions of their voters. I think they are correct in their assessment but the logic and persistence of Donald Trump will win this standoff. He is in the driver's seat in more ways than one. Our debt and budget WILL be reduced.

So if Democrats win the Virginia and NJ governors races and commie Mandami wins on NYC, Democrats will ll claim it was because the people supported them in the federal government shut down? What if it backfires and they lose? What will they do then? The Democrats temper tantrum over losing control and strong support for benefits for illegals should show everyone why they should not be in power.

Looks like the Dems are headed for victory in all three places NY, NJ, Virginia. The Trump Administration better be ready for a good explanation to rebuff the preposterous claims that will immediately follow.

We cannot continue to borrow money we have to pay interest on. MY family cannot do it and the Government cannot do it. The democrats get votes by raising the debt and the idiots who vote for them are digging their own graves.

For democrats it's always self preserving political power. The little people are expendable. The longer the shutdown goes on, the hungrier their political base becomes, hopefully hungry enough to wake up and see their political rulers as they truly are. Tyrants.

No matter the outcome of the election on Tuesday, the DNC and their mouthpieces (NYTimes, CNN, MSNBC - whatever it's called - and AP) will declare victory for the DEMS, as they always intended to do. Some on Fox will even follow suit (that's your cue, Bret). The real contest is Fall 2026. Don’t be distracted by the fake noise.
The fake shutdown will only be a faint memory by then. Here are the things that count: A strong economy, law and order in our towns and cities and no avoidable foreign combat entanglements for our troops.

Whatever. Congress cannot even end a program (WIC) that was meant to be a two year temporary program to promote breastfeeding back in 1972. And if I hear one more time, 42 millions Americans will go without their SNAP benefits - I will scream. What do the talking heads on Fox and Newsmax not understand about 1) not everyone receiving SNAP benefits is an American citizen, and 2), The S in SNAP stands for Supplemental. It's not their entire food budget.
My late mother was on food stamps (and she had to fully document her income - they even counted her deed to two gravesites in NY as income) the last 4-5 years of her life back in the late 1990s - 2001 and she received about $80 a month. My brother and I supplemtend her household budget and the food stamps were greatly appreciated by her and us. She didn't buy garbage food but it allowed her to treat herself to some extra groceries.

Don't forget the mayoral races in Little Mogadishu, IMN and Seattle. Both Democrats in these races are unqualified, and with the Minneapolis race (where the candidate waves the flag of Somalia) there are two Muslims running in major cities, and they are very likely to win.

The Democrats have outright admitted that this is a political game. Whether they end it this week or next week is irrelevant at this point. They will get nothing out of it. I don’t see hordes of federal workers or food stamp recipients standing in line to vote for them. Mamdani is a lock on NYC Mayor. God help them. Virginia will fall to the Democrats. Winsome Earl-Sears seems like a lovely person but doesn’t have the fire. New Jersey is the one to watch.

I don't think people are yet understanding what the Democrats are really hoping for by continuing to keep the shutdown...Red October (OK, Red November). They imported around 20,000,000 unvetted, military-age illegals. Trump deported around 2,000,000. That means there are still about 18,000,000 left. So their game plan appears to be to use the cut off of their free food & housing to get them to start rioting and looting to begin the "fundamental transformation" (revolution) that Obama promised.
Prove me wrong.

If Cruz is right, then I would expect the dims to announce today, just before tomorrow's election, that they will vote to end the shutdown and support the pubbies' spending bill in the form of another continuing resolution. Then all the dims would have to do is say, "see, we are fighting for you and brought an end the shutdown out of sincere concern for hard-working Americans". Even though the dims caused the shutdown. Then the dim drones, seeing how "compassionate" their elected leaders are, will come out in droves and vote tomorrow and win some key races they would have lost otherwise.
