GM to Lay Off Thousands of EV Workers
After Green Energy Subsidy Ends

Ronald Reagan was known for a typically cogent observation about government: "Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." As is so often the case, he was right. He likely didn't foresee the onset of electric vehicles and the climate scolds' touting of them to prevent the planet from catching on fire; those were subsidized before they ever moved in the first place. But those subsidies are gone now, and so a bunch of people who worked on vehicles and batteries are finding themselves out of work.

That's the answer to the welfare state. Stop subsidizing deadbeats and they will move.

Neither GM, Tesla, nor any other car manufacturer are to blame. There was free money to be had and political repercussions if it was refused. But that said, they went in whole hog and now there's a price to be paid.

I think they were already going to do it. EV sales are crashing. Surely they've been seeing the writing on the wall. They just want to blame it on Trump and not admit it was an inevitable decision no matter subsidy or not.

What about that brand new battery factory in central Kentucky? (Blue Oval) There WERE to be 2 factories, but #2 was cancelled before construction started. Even before they made the first 9volt, the new workers started screaming UNION....UNION....and the governor of Kentucky (king Andy) was right there with them, leading the charge. (After all, it was "Andy's factory").......They are making the barrety for the Ford LIGHTNING (Is anyone buying those things?) “BlueOval SK is creating good-paying, American jobs in the heart of the Commonwealth,” Adams added. “We are strengthening the domestic supply chain and driving the transition to zero-emissions transportation.” The over/under is the plant closes by the 4th of July

AFAIC, there’s nothing to recommend EV’s. They are a net environmental negative, they have a short range, and take forever to recharge. When the batteries wear out, they aren’t recyclable. And they are more expensive than ICE vehicles. What’s not to love?

So, the automotive industry knows that electric cars are not viable and the taxpayers have to sponsor their sales. Our glorious leaders who voted for this subsidy knew this also and have probably sold all their stock before the subsidies were cancelled.

EV's and battery plants are only a part of the money tossed away in the Green Farce. Coal powered energy plants shut down, Solar fields, Windmills, Petroleum wells shut down. The beef farmers forced to stop growing their herds raising the price of beef. Elections have Consequences and when the Democrat cheated and put Obama-Biden in the White House the cost was crippling. Disastrous. And now Hussein is trying to censor and hide the truth. Barack Hussein Obama the Kenyan has damaged this country so badly it will take years to get it back on track ----if ever.

As RedState reported, Republican senators held a press conference on Wednesday, and what they revealed about the Arctic Frost scandal was incredibly disturbing. Describing it as "worse than Watergate," Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) presented evidence that 92 different conservative organizations or individuals were targeted by Jack Smith and the Biden-era Department of Justice. All of this was done under the guise of going after President Donald Trump over the 2020 election, and eight GOP senators also had their phone records subpoenaed, among other intrusions. That's where things get even crazier. According to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), infamous left-wing Judge James Boasberg was near the heart of this scandal,

The three remaining major candidates for mayor of New York City recently had their debate. It was contentious! The only one who offered any serious solutions, instead of corruption or communism, was Curt Sliwa, the sole Republican. Sadly, Sliwa’s chances are nothing like what Republicans enjoyed in New York City before and after 9/11. From 1993 to 2001, New Yorkers had given Republican Rudy Giuliani the reins of the largest city in the country. He cracked down on crime, he brought back business, and he restored in New Yorkers a sense of pride for their city. His successor, media mogul Michael Bloomberg, continued the Giuliani legacy of posh gentility, upscale standards,

Rare earths have been in the news. Rare earths, happily, are not rare. But they are only one instance of a broader issue–our government’s suicidal decision to rely on other countries, in most cases China, for minerals that are absolutely vital to both our economy and our national security. This was a conscious decision that must be reversed immediately. My friend Debra Struhsacker, one of the world’s top mining experts,

The “doomsday view” that “cataclysmic climate change will decimate civilization” is “wrong,” the Microsoft co-founder writes; people will “be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future.” His 2021 book “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster” somehow missed these truths; he predictied instead that global warming “could be worse” than COVID.
