Eleanor Holmes Norton, a non-voting delegate representing the District of Columbia, has the “early stages of dementia,” according to a police report detailing how scammers took advantage of the oldest member of the House of Representatives.
Norton, 88, was duped by multiple suspects Thursday who went to her Washington, DC, home claiming to be HVAC workers, according to an internal police report obtained by NBC News4.
The swindlers charged $4,362 to the Democratic congresswoman’s credit card without performing any work.

Even with dementia, most are smarter than the average Washingtonian. As evil as she is, Norton is still better than what else Washington will throw at America.

Unlike corporate America, members of Congress do not have yearly performance reviews.
No matter how they screw up, the response is always the same - the voters will decide in the next election.
She is clearly not earning her salary, but has no intention of resigning, and will have to be carried out, much like many of her peers.

A couple of years ago, I saw a video that a staff took of her trying to park in a straight space. It was not funny, it was sad. She should have been gone years ago. She cannot represent her constituents. Her chief of staff is making all of those decisions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7Ym-kk1tRw

I remind you that when the democrats control the House, they promulgate a rule where all votes taken are cast as a committee of the whole. So Holmes Norton's vote cvounts just like a regular congresscritter.
(Newt Gingrich, as Speaker, ended the practice, Pelosi reinstated it, and I hope Mike Johnson killed it.)

This is why I have no sympathy for the residents of DC and their complaints about crime, etc. These idiots keep voting for the same old Dems even when there is a Republican on the ballot.

She's been clinging to this office since 1991 ! Think of how much money she has pulled down for a largely ceremonial job.

The risk is that her successor will be more competent in misgovernment and more vocal.
Another Maxine anyone?

I saw a show many years ago where the reporter interviewed the person responsible for acquiring the medications for house members. One question that was asked was how many members of Congress were on medication for Dementia and Alzheimer's. The person answered, " More than you want to know."

She's black and has a D next to her name. Nothing else matters in DC.

It sounds to me like it's past time for her to retire, but it also sounds like, just like RBG and Dianne Feinstein, she'll give up her Power when they pry it from her cold, dead fingers.
Different people age differently. Donald Trump is an Energizer bunny at what- 78?
Chuck Grassley appears to be going strong at what.... 92?
On the other hand, even early in his term in the White House, the HairSniffer would often 'call a lid' (I had never hear of that phrase before Biden) at 10 AM and sleep for the rest of the day.
So... who answers "the 3 AM phone call"?
It would be a service to the nation if the Media would point out to everyone when these various politicians are clearly over the hill and are no longer up to the job.
RB Ginsburg..... Dianne Feinstein...... The HairSniffer .... Nancy 'Granny Winebox' Pelosi..... Elanor Norton .... Thad Cochran was a good guy, but I think he stayed on a term longer than he probably should .... John Stennis.... I saw him speak once, late in his career, and he sounded good, but again, I think he stayed in DC too long.
To end up, please watch this short clip of Ronaldus Maxiumus' answer to 'The Age Question'. It'll get ya Grinnin!
I have seen it written that Walter Mondale said, that when Reagan gave this answer, he (Mondale) knew that the election was over.
