Norfolk, Virginia — A one-page mortgage document signed by New York state Attorney General Letitia James is at the center of the federal criminal charges for which she now faces 60 years in federal prison. In the “second home rider” for her mortgage, which was obtained by The Post, James attested that the property would be a second home occupied primarily by her. It allowed her to secure a better mortgage rate from Old Virginia Mortgage/Annie Mac — netting her nearly $19,000 in mortgage savings, according to federal prosecutors. In reality, James’ serial criminal grand-niece, Nakia Thompson, moved in soon after she

Tip of the iceberg. Fine her a few hundred million dollars and put her away for the rest of her life.
Moral of the story - don’t mess with Donald John Trump. Especially if you have a closet full of your own skeletons.

Sixty years? She'll be old, fat and ugly by the time she gets out. Mass murderers don't get that much time in New York, thanks to her.

Nobody is above the law. I'd say 60 years in a cold, dank cell is a good start.

Whew. The case looks to be water tight. Enjoy the joint, Letitia.

Chances are the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats will get a leftist Democrat judge appointed to hear the case against Letitia James who will either throw the case out or will find her not guilty. When leftist Democrats talk about Donald Trump damaging “our democracy” they are really talking about Trump effectively “knocking out” the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat political agenda.

The smart money says she is going to get a "OJ" jury... innocent on all counts.

Remember the adage, No good deed goes unpunished. She wanted to help her wayward niece, that was what any of us would do, right? Her problem started when she fibbed on the mortgage contract. It turns out, it wouldn’t be her first time. She got caught, so she should pay. She defrauded the mortgages more than once. She should resign and pay the fine.
Here’s another adage to keep in mind. To whom much is given, much will be required. Time to account for yourself, Leticia. Set a good example for those who look up to you. Youve benefited from services like affirmative action, I’m sure. You missed your opportunity to be a good role model, so maybe you can just retire and get out of the way.

I'm no lawyer but by allowing her niece to live in her rental home isn't Letitia James guilty of "harboring a fugitive"? You would thing the AG of NY State would be aware of this conflict of interest and illegal action.

Family. That says it all. A jury of her peers likely will look past that. The contract mod. is a little weak. The finance was on the NY AG. The above the law attitude is what nailed her. Her salary was such that she cut corners. That the $19k savings probably doesn't look so smart now. Dang! what teenaged webs we weave. # 5, I thought they did. I saw it somewhere with a picture of the guy - Biden appt. and same color as the AG. Correct me if I'm wrong.

She's black, she's female and she's a democrat, so she's innocent! End of story.

Why aren't they going after her, "Dear Daddy," for fraudulently affirming, on her very first mortgage, that he was her "husband" in order for the recent law school graduate "Tish" to co-opt his well-established Credit Score?

She wanted the maximum penalty for President Trump. She should get the full 60 years, that's only fair.

Guilty as sin, but, sad to say it, I doubt that she will ever serve a day in prison. There is NO justice in the state of NY. Justice just doesn't happen there.

The niece living in her residence is not paying rent but James is collecting rent. What is the source of this rent money? This could be viewed by some as money laundering.

Hasn't she also committed insurance fraud? A second home has cheaper rates to insure than a rental home. Did she sign an application to get the coverage? She will have to say that her daughter was there rent-free to take care of the house and grounds so it wouldn't be vacant.
She knows that she was gaming the system but being who she is, she will probably walk. At most, pay the back taxes.

James didn't do this fraud once, oh no, she did it I hear a couple of more times, but the govt. didn't think the fraud case would win at these locations because it was going to be tried in a heavily blue area.

#22. There is definitely a two-tiered justice system, so sometimes the prosecution ends up being the punishment.
And just because you don't think you can get a conviction because of political bias, you still need to bring them to trial to at least air out all of their dirty laundry.
Finally, bless her little heart.
