Even Marjorie Taylor Greene Thinks Trump's
Immigration and Trade Policies Go Too Far

Original Article

“We have to do something about labor, and that needs to be a smarter plan than just rounding up every single person and deporting them,” the Georgia congresswoman said. President Donald Trump's trade and immigration agenda is deeply unpopular with the general public. Now, even some of Trump's most loyal allies are voicing their frustrations with the president's policies. During a recent appearance on comedian Tim Dillon's podcast, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R–Ga.) criticized the Trump administration's hardline stance on immigration, warning that its crackdowns create more chaos than security.

Comments:

What is up with MTG? Is she off her meds again? While an article from the pro-open-border crowd at Reason Magazine is always full of anti-Trump vitriol, I have noticed that Marjorie has become a darling with the Democrat press, now that she is publicly criticizing Trump' s most popular policy. On the stair master at the gym today I saw, but couldn't hear, her being interviewed by CNN.

The right way to do this is for MTG to propose legislation to change the laws that Trump is required to support and defend. She should propose an amnesty bill or impacted businesses bill to exempt workers in jobs that are beneath the dignity of unemployed Americans. Taking shots at Trump while riding on his coattails is hypocritical and cowardly.

The Trump administration’s messaging on America’s military involvement in Iran has been, to put it lightly, a mess. And it’s clear after listening to his remarks about the conflict that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is not helping the situation. Since the U.S.-Israeli-led operation against Tehran began, Graham has rushed to every microphone and television camera available to express his unbridled enthusiasm about the campaign. When he isn’t bragging about how much money the U.S. is going to make as a result of the conflict, he’s calling for more American intervention in countries like Cuba and Lebanon.

President Donald Trump's push to seize Greenland might be the least popular idea in American political history. Is that hyperbole? If so, that's only because reliable and fast public polling is a relatively recent development within our 250-year experiment in self-governance. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found a staggering 4 percent of Americans favor the idea of seizing Greenland with military force. Among Republicans, the idea is actually twice as popular: 8 percent say taking the island is a "good idea."

On Monday night, Scott Jennings asked a simple question to a CNN panel, and it got me thinking. And what I thought about was quite disturbing. The Department of Homeland Security has been shut down since Presidents' Day weekend. Democrats triggered it, and they've kept it going as a pressure campaign against the Trump administration's deportation agenda, specifically to hamstring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and use that as a cudgel to force policy changes in enforcement, most of which are absurd. The Senate voted three separate times on DHS funding bills, and each time, Democrats blocked them — every single one, with the lone exception of Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.).
