Critical Thinking Has Been Hijacked: How
the Left Quietly Rewired the Way We Teach Reason

“I don’t know what you mean by ‘glory,’” Alice said. (Snip) In the past, I’ve talked about the left's deliberate shift of language, but I’ve never mentioned the foundational shift I’m going to talk about now. This one is different. It doesn’t just twist one word or one idea — it changes the ground we stand on. This shift attacks logic itself. It strikes at the roots of reasoning, the process by which we decide what is true. It happened quietly and almost no one saw it occur. The term critical thinking has been redefined. For decades, parents were told schools would teach their children to “think critically.”

Critically thinking people make rational decisions. Our schools graduate kids who can't read nor make change. Any connection?

For us the heart of critical thinking is seeking truth through reason. Something handed down from Socrates. This new generation's minds have been poisoned to believe that critical thinking means gaining power through ideology. While they use the same words what is going through their minds is something entirely different. Scary!

I dont believe in truth anymore, at least not in the political sphere. Everything any politician says is either a lie or a partial truth, with the goal being to secure elections and power. Some of them are so bad they lie without a thought and feel no shame when they are caught. We should not be electing people like this to run things, but it appears ONLY people like this want to run things. I honestly think we would be better off if we threw a dart into a random phone book page and elected whoever the dart hit. They couldn't be any worse and they wouldn't be as good at corruption.

That's because what's being proposed defies logic, reason, and rationality. The last thing they want people doing is critical thinking. Critical thinking asks questions. Therefore, critical thinking is discouraged. So many things fly in the face of logic and reason. The debt comes to mind. So does LGBTQ. Soft on crime. Climate change. All the hate. There are so many issues that defy logic and reason. Question any of them and they turn nasty in a second. Get censored. Get banned. Get jailed.

I have long believed that it was no coincidence that Marxist theory was called 'critical'; so as to mislead the gullible into believing that some kind of solid, logical analysis and conclusions were involved. As if! And then more recently, came it's retarded, ugly sibling 'critical race theory'. Same deal: believe us, we'd never lie or try to trick you! Abandon reason, all ye who enter here!

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, whose insurrectionist tendencies would have made him most welcome in the Antebellum South, is nothing if not forceful in his defense of radical Antifa rioters against federal law enforcement officers — but will a new revelation force him to back down? The question is rhetorical because who am I kidding? But today's news shows just how far Antifa's communist insurrections might be willing to go toward making Chicago — and maybe the country — completely ungovernable. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, as PJ Media's own Rick Moran reported on Tuesday, perform "in a two-man play" of local resistance

If you'll recall, back in early September, after the president ordered the U.S. military to begin striking Venezuelan drug boats in the Caribbean, the country's illegitimate narco-terrorist leader, Nicolás Maduro, got scared and wrote a letter to "Respected President Donald Trump." In it, he told a bunch of lies and half-truths about his peaceful regime that is totally not a cartel and that is actually fighting the war on drugs. He also begged for continued diplomacy talks through Special Envoy Richard Grenell. On Monday evening, the New York Times reported that President Donald Trump "called off diplomatic outreach to Venezuela" and stated that "The move paves the way

Things are not going well for Jay Jones. Maybe he could have survived his disgusting comments about a fellow legislator and that person's wife and children. But then yesterday we learned that Jones had previously made similar comments about police officers, suggesting that if a few more cops were shot and killed, they wouldn't be as likely to shoot people. If you missed this, I wrote about it yesterday. Unfortunately the earlier conversation about police wasn't over text messages so we don't have the proof it happened. Jones denied it, but the story is coming from the same Republican lawmaker who those other texts were sent to.

The dominance of a single political party in any region is, shall we say, suboptimal. Monopolies tend to breed laziness, corruption, and leaders who feel entitled to unearned deference. The safer a politician feels, the more likely they are to abuse their power, like Joe Biden, or to abuse others, like...Katie Porter. (X) Porter has never been a pleasant person, nor a high achiever, except in the sense of building a resume. Coming from a class that equates credentials with achievement, her Phillips Academy to Yale to Harvard to Law Clerk to Academia to Congress path looks very impressive to them. Democrats in 2025 are looking to their forebears in 1861 and Governor Wallace in 1963, standing in the schoolhouse door, defying federal officials trying to enforce federal law. (X) They are even resorting to the same excuses they did when they were defending slavery and segregation: state sovereignty and states' rights. (X) At least they are acting consistently with a brand they established long ago, although I have to note that in many of the intervening years, they have been very inconsistent about applying this principle. Their attitude is more "states' rights for me, but not for thee." (X) There is a serious flaw in the "state's rights" argument,

Former Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as Special Counsel to do his share of the Biden administration’s dirty work in the January 6 and Mar-a-Lago documents cases. There's a saying that goes, "If you want to make a conservative mad, lie to him. If you want to make a leftist mad, tell him the truth." Truer words were never spoken. The Left has abandoned reason for rage, choosing violence over debate or even discussion. Democrats are not only unwilling to civilly engage conservatives -- they're increasingly unable to. They're resorting to threats, fantasies of murder, violence, and even support for such extremism. The pattern is clear, it's damning and it's time to call it out and demand accountability. Matt Walsh laid out how the Left expressed their violent streak over the last three days. He recounts

Soon after the assassination of Charlie Kirk at the hands of a deranged leftist, President Donald Trump took the long-overdue step of designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. As part of that order, Trump declared, “All relevant executive departments and agencies shall utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations — especially those involving terrorist actions — conducted by Antifa.” In a show of defiance against the new order, Antifa thugs assaulted a federal building in Eugene, Oregon, pounding on doors and harassing employees. Law enforcement dispersed the group and detained five of the besiegers. While the initial response was decisive,

With the government shutdown, Democrat politicians are in rare form these days. The talking points of the Left this week are that the shutdown fight is necessary, or 50,000 people will die, and 15 million people will lose health coverage, and 20 million will see their health insurance premiums double. Politicians always like using superlatives; it makes them feel important. And there’s no time like a government shutdown for speaking in superlatives. Even without exaggerating, the numbers they have to work with are enormous. The federal government employs about 3 million people, making it the nation’s largest employer, almost double the size of Walmart’s 1.5 million,

The movie posters of James Bond pictures usually featured an armed 007, surrounded by a montage of exotic locations, villains, lairs, action scenes, gadgets, and the alluring heroines. He was also an aspirational figure -- a fearless patriot who enjoyed the luxuries that men dream of. The posters were in synch with the minimalist, mysterious,

The most destructive inferno in Los Angeles history, which charred a devastating path through Pacific Palisades and Malibu in early January, was a rekindling fire that an Uber driver intentionally set days earlier near a popular hiking area, federal investigators alleged. Authorities on Wednesday also announced the arrest of 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht, who is suspected of setting the initial fire on New Year’s Eve. Rinderknecht, of Florida, was charged with maliciously starting what eventually became the Palisades fire. Among the evidence that was collected from his digital devices was an image he generated on ChatGPT depicting a burning city, said U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.

The $7,500 federal “incentive” dangled as an inducement to move the EV needle has expired. This means EV sales — if you want to use that word to describe a transaction involving the buyer, the seller, and you, the party who is taxed to “help” facilitate it — are likely to slide even farther below the waterline than they already were. This tends to happen when people are obliged to pay full price for a thing that is only tempting to them when it is heavily discounted — like those half-off dented cans of soup you sometimes see on sale at the supermarket.
