President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced a multipronged effort aimed at lowering drug costs in the United States, including the creation of a “TrumpRx” direct-to-consumer website where Americans can buy medicine at discounted prices and a sweeping deal with Pfizer to reduce the prices of many of its products. “The United States is done subsidizing the health care of the rest of the world,” Trump said at a news conference. “By taking this bold step, we’re ending the era of global price gouging at the expense of American families.” Pfizer is the first drugmaker to voluntarily agree to all the demands Trump laid out to pharmaceutical company CEOs.

Comments:

More companies soon to begin providing America with "Most Favored Nation" pricing. TrumpRX site opens early 2026.

Cheaper meds mean less profit. So your investment portfolio may not perform as well as in the past. Just saying they are related. People want lower prices but higher ROI.

Pfizer made tons of money on the COVID scam. They can afford to give people discounts for a while instead of charging ten times what a prescription drug should cost. Merck and J&J will soon follow that plan.

Great idea, great initiative, but we could do without POTUS naming things after himself. That's best done after he leaves office.

Take away all the subsidies (which the government never had money for in the first place) and nobody can afford healthcare, and nobody buys their products. Insurance, prescriptions, whatever. It doesn't matter. They have to lower prices to stay in business.

Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed Thursday to cut all state funding for any universities in California that sign onto a compact circulated by the White House asking major institutions to agree to a series of conservative ideals in exchange for more favorable treatment as they seek federal money. The Trump administration sent a proposed “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education” this week to nine universities, including USC, calling on the institutions in part to adhere to restrictions on the use of race and gender in the admissions process, banning biological males from competing in women’s sports, capping admission of international students and requiring a “vibrant marketplace of ideas” on campuses

The Trump administration may propose a regulatory process to force drugmakers to cut U.S. prices to the lower levels in other wealthy countries, according to a notice that was posted on a federal website. The notice, which was published, then deleted for several hours Thursday, and then republished, refers to a “proposed rule” and a “global benchmark for efficient drug pricing (GLOBE) model” under the Department of Health and Human Services. But President Trump has long called for a model under which U.S. payers would get drug prices equal to the lowest price paid among peer countries.

California Governor Gavin Newsom lashed out at General Motors CEO Mary Barra, claiming she 'sold out' the state by backing away from a ban on gas cars. GM, America's largest car company, says it is simply responding to what drivers actually want — exposing a widening gap between what customers want and Newsom's aggressive push for electric vehicles. The automaker has doubled down on gas models and, according to the governor, lobbied state officials to roll back California’s landmark clean car law.

Just when U.S. Steel thought the ink had dried on its new future with Japan’s Nippon Steel, the company ran into a political reality check: President Donald Trump’s administration and its new “golden share” authority. The golden share—essentially a veto power over certain corporate moves—was a condition for White House approval of Nippon Steel’s $14.1 billion acquisition of U.S. Steel in June. The president used this power to halt a planned plant shutdown in Granite City, Ill. Two weeks ago, U.S. Steel notified the Granite City plant and its 800 workers that operations would cease in November. The company planned to pay the employees, despite closing steel production.

As President Donald Trump tries to force Lisa Cook out of her job at the Federal Reserve, her lawyers have pointed to a similar event in history — one where the president lost at the Supreme Court. On October 7, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt fired William E. Humphrey from his post at the Federal Trade Commission. The reason was purely political: The president wanted someone who could advance his priorities.. "I do not feel that your mind and my mind go along together," Roosevelt told Humphrey in a letter. His term at the FTC was supposed to last until 1938. When Humphrey refused to resign, Roosevelt fired him.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Tuesday lost her bid to get back on the Georgia election interference case against President Trump — who celebrated by calling her a “disaster.” The embattled prosecutor was booted from the high-profile case in December by the Georgia Court of Appeals, which cited the “appearance of impropriety” over her affair with the special prosecutor Nathan Wade leading the case. Georgia’s top court said Tuesday that it would not consider reversing a lower court’s ruling. Trump cheered the decision on the White House lawn just before he departed for the UK – arguing Willis should be prosecuted.

The U.S. State Department has revoked visas for foreign nationals who celebrated the assassination of beloved conservative icon Charlie Kirk. Deputy Secretary of State Chris Landau made the announcements on X that hateful people who abused their privilege to come here would be sent home. “In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” Landau wrote on X Thursday. “I have (snip) directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action. Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention.”

The Trump administration is deploying cutting-edge artificial intelligence to conduct an unprecedented review of more than 55 million visa holders in what could become the largest immigration dragnet in U.S. history. But in practical terms, the unprecedented vetting process will likely target a far smaller pool than the number being floated publicly. It's a sort of psychological warfare designed to trigger mass self-deportations, a former State Department employee tells. "They don't need to scrub 55 million. They just need to say they are casting the net as extensively as possible, to encourage those who know they are ineligible, probably overstaying their visas, to self-deport before they are caught"

Lawyers for two boys blamed for sexual harassment by their Virginia school district after complaining about a transgender classmate, who was a biological female, using their locker room are now headed to federal court following a denial of their appeal. Earlier this year, the Loudoun County Public Schools in Northern Virginia launched a Title IX sexual harassment investigation into the two boys after they were videotaped by a biological female who identified as transgender inside the boys' locker room. The video caught them outwardly complaining to each other about the fact that there was a girl using their facilities.

A three-judge panel of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals released a unanimous opinion on Tuesday in the case of Mid Vermont Christian School et al v. Zoie Saunders et al. Circuit Judge Michael Park, a Trump appointee, authored the opinion, which reversed a lower court decision against the Mid Vermont Christian School and remanded the case with instructions for Mid Vermont’s reinstatement in the VPA.

Charlie Kirk is dead. Americans must face why. His murder was not random, not confusing, not detached from the battles he fought so fiercely in life. It was the direct consequence of his bold refusal to bend before one of the most aggressive and destabilizing ideologies of our time: transgender radicalism. For years, Kirk warned about the dangers of this movement. Not just its cultural consequences, but the deeper crisis of mental illness and violence it has unleashed across the nation. In the end, his voice was silenced by precisely the pestilence he spent his career opposing. The facts are painfully clear. On Sept. 13, 2025, police captured Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old suspect

Zohran Mamdani just offered fresh proof of his deep anti-cop bigotry with his call to shift key powers to discipline officers to the Civilian Complaint Review Board. It’s a terrible fix for a problem that doesn’t exist — and one that would lead to worse policing, and so more crime; it would likely even produce a force with far more bad cops. “What I would do is ensure that the recommendations of the CCRB be understood to be the final voice of the question of accountability,” Mamdani says — without pointing to any actual bad results of the current law, which gives final say to the police commissioner.
