Silver-spoon Democratic NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is a longtime Airbnb foe who pushed for the “the abolition of private property” — yet his filthy-rich parents have rented their posh Ugandan compound on the online site for nearly a decade, The Post has learned.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom villa owned by Columbia University Professor Mahmood Mamdani and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Mira Nair offers breathtaking views of Lake Victoria and has monkeys traipsing through its lush two acres, according an Airbnb listing active for the last eight years.
The far-from-proletariat estate is a far cry from the everyday Joe their socialist son attempts to portray on the campaign trail

I've been to Uganda twice, but never saw anything close to luxury!
If New York City wants to go to ruin, let them. Maybe the U.N. will leave when it gets dangerous.

They're not charging much and the interior photos look spartan. It's in Uganda. Hold the monkeys.

All good to know. He sounds like a hypocrite.
However, to be fair the comparisons should include more information about the African context: Monkeys are like squirrels in Africa. They are a nuisance, not a sign of affluence. Likewise, land and housing tends to be less expensive there than here, particularly if you're on a USD income. And gates are essential to protect property of any kind. So, the parents are probably not in the so-called 1% in U.S. terms. More likely they are in the top 5% in Uganda relative to the much lower incomes over there.

They are employed in the US. It's my guess they guess they are very wealthy by Ugandan standards.

New York is going to elect this Communist moron in a couple of months. In a couple of years, it will be a hellhole. They’ve got it coming. It needs to happen.
I can’t wait.

What criminal path did his parents take to become this wealthy?

Somehow the concept of a "posh Uganda estate" escapes me entirely. Why would ANYONE live in Uganda that wasn't born there and unable to escape?

If you have ever been anywhere with actual wild monkeys, they are cute for about 2 minutes.
They have nasty teeth, try to steal your food from your hands and snarl and bare vicious looking teeth at you if you raise a hand to threaten. And the ones I'm talking about were at a picnic area in South African park out in very rural countryside, and probably weighed all of 2-3 pounds. They looked like they could bite the hell out of you. I was eventually able to run them off long enough for us to finish our lunch and pack up and escape.
There were some in India which were a lot better behaved, albeit larger, say 20-30 lbs, These were langurs and, at least in the park where we were, didn't cause trouble, mostly stayed away. The little food grubbers in South Africa were very cute to see, little hands like infants....but a total pain in the butt. Where we hunted in South Africa, the locals shot the vervet monkeys as pests.
No....I agree with #5 - hold the monkeys, don't need them.

Escape from NYC, now. Hold the monkeys but I do enjoy watching squirrels at the bird feeder.

Love her or hate her, Laura Loomer had this story on X several weeks ago. Shame on the Post for not attributing her hard work.
