As you may remember, Peter Strzok was part of the Mueller investigation until texts between himself and fellow agent Lisa Page were released. Those texts indicated a clear dislike for President Trump that preexisted his involvement in the investigation.
Mr. Strzok was reassigned this summer from Mr. Mueller’s investigation to the F.B.I.’s human resources department, where he has been stationed since. The people briefed on the case said the transfer followed the discovery of text messages in which Mr. Strzok and a colleague reacted to news events, like presidential debates, in ways that could appear critical of Mr. Trump.

Is this an old article? Peter Strzok should be facing prison, but he files a suit stating his rights were violated. What rights? The right to not be transferred? He shouldn't even have a job. Some of these government employees (especially the criminal, elitist, leftist ones) are among the most entitled people in America.
FTA "Page wrote in a text, Trump is “not ever going to become president, right? Right?!” to which Strzok replied, “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it."
Who is we?

This is timely only because it demonstrates, yet again, how Leftists like Strzok feel that they can run a subversive effort against Trump and be part of the government's investigation against Trump at the same time. Then, to walk away without consequence. It is a clear and massive conflict of interest and violates an assurance that law enforcement is not "out to get you" outside the issue of having committed a crime.
There is something called the appearance of impartiality. Per an online search: It is crucial for maintaining public trust and the integrity of judicial and governmental processes. This standard is often codified in ethics rules and codes of conduct, and when concerns arise, the individual may be required to recuse themselves from the matter. Exactly.
But the Left says such constraints do not apply to them. Strzok should have recused himself. He didn't and was fired for it. The standards of the FBI, an agency charged with enforcing law, demanded it, even more so than an general administrative agency.

Does this boil down to he's still on some kind of government payroll?

Free speech is one thing but a government agency that has control over the people through use of armed force has to be apolitical. Boot him out and his little girlfriend with him.

Normally, employees having extramarital affairs at work are immediately fired.
Just another example of our ruling class believing that rules don't apply to themselves.

#7, The FBI already has a clear policy which makes fraternization a firing offense. It was just nodded and winked away by the Deep Staters.
Did Mrs. Strzok stay with him after this humiliation? If so, this would be a good time to leave and take half that big payout with her.

I did not know Strzok was STILL employed at the FBI, collecting a salary paid by oppressed taxpayers. I figured he was sent to Oblivia, never to be heard again.... which is exactly what he deserved, absent federal prison.

This piece is poorly written, consisting of long quotations from articles published back in the first Trump administration. The article should be more clear about the date of each old quotation. The best I can take from the article is:
1. Peter Strzok, a long-time FBI stooge, was removed from the Mueller investigation ago, as soon as his TDS love letter texts were discovered, though the actual words of the texts were not publicly released.
2. After this removal from the Mueller team, he was kept on by the FBI in some sort of HR desk position, a humiliating demotion.
3. In 2018, the text messages were revealed publicly, after which Strzok was fired.
4. After being fired, both Strzok and Page filed lawsuits against the DOJ for breach of privacy because the words of their "private" texts had been released publicy, causing them apparent humiliation, embarrassment, and loss of their jobs. Unfortunately, the DOJ paid them off by quickly settling their lawsuits and giving Strzok and Page $1.2 million to Strzok and $800,000 to Page.
5. In the meantime, Strzok had another civil case going against the FBI or DOJ for improper termination of his FBI employment related to Strzok's alleging a violation of his First Amendment right to free speech. This case, funded by "Go Fund Me" donations from unknown parties, has spent the intervening years from about 2018 until now, collecting evidence hoping to prove that Strzok's termination of employment was improperly related to a breach of his free speech rights. In other words, "I can say anything I want in private texts on FBI phones and servers and the FBI can't fire me for it." One supposes that this case sought reinstatement to his job and back pay. This is the case that was dismissed by the judge just this week, on an apparent motion for summary judgment before the notorious Obama-appointed judge Amy Berman Jackson. Jackson apparently ruled that Strzok’s lawyers' accumulated evidence had failed to show that his dismissal violated his First Amendment rights. She thereupon ordered dismissal of this ongoing case.
Strzok's TDS got him exposed for what he is, an arrogant, subversive, loathsome character. He surely wants to appeal this dismissal to a Circuit Court of Appeals, but his chances are slim and his go fund me collections have probably slowed to a trickle. Look for him to try to write a book and get an advance from a publisher, but the chances of that are slim.
