GLENDALE, Arizona — Erika Kirk revealed that she forgives the man who killed her husband Charlie and preached unity and peace in a stunning, searing speech that left mourners speechless and crying on Sunday.
“He wanted to save young men. Just like the one who took his life,” Kirk’s widow said through tears, speaking behind the presidential seal on stage at State Farm Stadium.
She added: “I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And what Charlie would do.” “The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love.

I hope Robinson was forced to watch the whole five-hour memorial.

Wow. It’s incredible that this selfless woman can show such grace at the same time the left (AOC) shows its evil nature…..and yet……even with this example, the left will still embrace their lies. How can this be?
John 8:44. They are of their father, the father of lies.

Cried more than once and not just for Charlie. The state of America is delicate and I am afraid of the future. I will pray and ponder what I can do to help set the course straight. I am wondering how the dems/progressives/communists/socialist/atheists etc. can spin this loving memorial into something wrong and evil. They will try. Waiting for AOC to address an empty chamber again with another ignorant diatribe. I will pray for her and the others. They need all the prayers available.

Erika Kirk had to be overwhelmed at the number of people there, as well as in overflow areas, to pay tribute to her husband. I wonder what kind of snide remarks Democrats are going to come up with to downplay this wonderful memorial service. I am not sure there is another Republican or Democrat who would have this many people turn out for their memorial service.

I don't hate the nutball Robinson as much as I hate the leftist media people who are implying that Charlie brought his murder on himself. They are equivocating and lying now because this will be a stain on them that won't ever be washed away.

Personally known to me, Christian forbearance and forgiveness, hate the sin, but love the sinner, is easier said than done.
So even if only lip service, which I doubt, because they seem like sincere people, it was the exactly right thing to do.
I commend her on her lack of vitriol and absence of any sense of vengeance.
The contrast between this and the opposition could not be more manifest.
Truly, a person of character.

That’s not how it works. Scripture states in Ro 13:4 -
“for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil.”
As a Christian, you may forgive someone who commits a sin or injustice to you, but you don’t get to tell the State what they can or can’t do to a heinous assassin. He will be tried, convicted, and the Judge will dispense judgement.
Hopefully, the State of Utah will decide to reduce costs over the long run by executing this murderous, vile, animal.

I don't think I have the strength of character to forgive someone in those circumstances. Erika is one special lady.

Forgiveness is not forgetting. It is also not forgiving the act. Forgiveness makes certain that a person does not become bitter and lives in ways opposed to God. Sadly, there are so many people living their lives without faith and God. The person that assassinated Charlie Kirk is doing just that. Sometimes, I think our mission field for churches is right here in the United States. . .

Remember who the real enemy is, the one who hates our souls, the one that came to steal kill and destroy goes by formerly Lucifer now Satan the accuser and adversary. He's behind the evil that goes on in this world by influencing people to choose poorly. That's why Christians are told to pray for their enemies and bless those who persecute them. We are called to forgive because we have our sins that Christ has forgiven us. Since he forgave us we forgive others.

Next Sunday, throughout the country, pastors and priests will be giving sermons using Erika's words as input.

I have a neighbor who was a missionary in liberia years ago. He had his family with him, his wife and daughter. He had a teen age liberian boy working with him. Unknown to George, the boy took a shine to Georges daughter. One day while George was gone somewhere, this boy hit on the daughter. She rebuffed him. This made him so mad that he killed her, and decapitated her, leaving her head on the kitchen table for George to find when he got home.
The liberian boy was picked up and questioned by police, he would not say anything. They allowed George to talk to him. George forgave the boy and got him to admit what he had done. Same day that he did it.
I could never be the man that he is.

For America, especially, I have been praying for a revival for many years. In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, that revival has begun. Give Him praise. It's what Charlie would do.

I can't imagine forgiving someone who assassinated a loved one in front of me.
