President Donald Trump shared security footage of contractors, who he claimed were responsible for a “huge gash in the limestone” in the White House’s Rose Garden. In a post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted how he was “very proud of the beautiful stonework” in the Rose Garden, adding that renovations of the Rose Garden were “completed.” Trump continued to add that days ago, while “admiring the stonework,” he noticed the gash in the limestone that “extended more than 25 yards long”

“I love and respect great workers and contractors, but something like this should never happen,” Trump added. “Now, I’ll replace the stone, charge the contractor, and never let that contractor work at the White House again — But, how great is the video equipment? We caught them, cold. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Gutfeld was right. We do not deserve this guy.

I guess he’s like anyone else. You can vet and hire the best contractors you can find, but you’ve got to watch them like a hawk.

This is one of the regular guy things I love about President Trump. Poster 2 is so right. If you don't watch your contractors, you'll discover so much done wrong after the work is finished. They can make it look good, but beware of what lies underneath. And, I swear they are the worst at cleaning up behind themselves, and they will destroy your plants when they work on the outside of your house.
I had a fence guy who put my fence up wrong side out and wanted to charge me extra to fix it. I told him, "I'll get it fixed, but you won't get the business. Finish up and get outta here." They're not all bad, though; if you find a good one, keep him. I had a wonderful contractor who did my floors, two bathrooms, and my master bedroom, and he did a wonderful job. All his team kept my house clean, cleaned up behind themselves; I'll hire and recommend him to anyone. My brother does good enough work, but he doesn't understand the concept of cleaning up behind himself. But, he charges me way less, so I clean up behind him. He never seems to catch a clue and get better at it, though.

Trump amazes again. Discovers WH property damaged, while walking around, and has the culprits tracked down by WH staff. Trump is the only Republican capable of doing that. Other Republicans would have said they could only tell us about it, and could do nothing themselves.

It's MY country, that's MY White House. Thank you, Mr. President for looking after it.

I thought the private sector does nothing wrong. It's only government workers who are useless. Hmmm

This incident is a microcosm (nanocosm?) of how the President is conducting the country's business. Equivalent to you or me discovering we'd been short-changed by a penny - not a big deal but it needs to be corrected.

The contractor's liability insurance will pay for the damage. Anybody doing work for the government has to provide a certificate of insurance that covers any damage that they might do.

People who secure government contracts at any level have historically been the types who charge exhorbitant prices, do shoddy work and expect to be rewarded with another contract due to their experience. Landscapers to Halliburton to Boeing, same-same.
