Russian reporters whine about ‘rough’
conditions at Trump-Putin summit — but
Moscow may be to blame

Russian reporters are whining about having to sleep on cots and being served old tuna for breakfast while covering the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska — but their own country may actually be to blame. The Kremlin journalists griped that they’ve had to rough it on portable beds with no sheets set up at the Alaska Airlines Center sports arena in Anchorage, where they were hardly able to make phone calls. They — gasp — even had to get by without bottled water.

Comments:

"Feel good" story of the summit meeting. There are *no* independent reporters left in Russia, so every one of these 50 is a stooge doing Putin's bidding. They're lucky they got the "spartan" accommodations at all. Would have preferred to give them torn up tents and tell them to live off the land the way Ukrainians at the front lines must do.

Well, there's always Siberian labor camps. Think about that next time you embarrass your dictator in front of an American president.

I'm sure our own journalists had better food and lodging but they made the trip for nothing. What did they expect, details of a private meeting between two powerful leaders?

#9: I skimmed over the whole article before posting, but that slipped past me. Looks like the NY Post doesn't have the sharpest editors. Earlier this year, they put out a map of the wildfires in the LA area and they labeled a town just north of LA as "Santa Clara." I sent them an e-mail notifying them that I'd once worked in Silicon Valley and I assured them that Santa Clara was nowhere near LA -- much closer to San Fran and right next door to San Jose, actually -- and that they should correct the map to show right name, which was Santa Clarita. To their credit, the correction was made within a few minutes.

“India is not only buying massive amounts of Russian Oil, they are then, for much of the Oil purchased, selling it on the Open Market for big profits,” U.S. President Donald Trump posted last week on Truth Social. “They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine. Because of this, I will be substantially raising the Tariff paid by India to the USA.” These words directly implicate buyers of Russian oil as accomplices in the murder of tens of thousands of Ukrainian people in the war started by the Kremlin on 24 February 2022, as indeed they have been.

George Soros turns 95 today, and for his birthday present America brought him the annihilation of his legacy. Soros has been known for two things: making money and spending it on political influence. Over the last few years, he has handed over control of his empire to his son, Alex, and Alex seems unable to do either of those things successfully. [Snip] The second election of Donald Trump—in a race where crime, immigration, and the IRA were three of the major issues—was America’s personal slap to George Soros’ face. Beijing is quietly discouraging Chinese firms, particularly those tied to state and/or national security interests, from using Nvidia's H20 AI chips, even after the Trump administration reversed a U.S. sales ban in exchange for 15% of related revenue. The move follows Beijing's concerns over a potential "backdoor" in the H20, an allegation Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has rejected. The report comes from the Financial Times, which states that regulators at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) instructed tech companies, such as Alibaba and ByteDance, to explain why they need H20 chips instead of sourcing domestic alternatives.
