California governor Gavin Newsom (D.) recently awarded taxpayer funds under a state antiterrorism program to a San Diego mosque that has been linked to 9/11 hijackers and whose imam defended the Hamas attack on Israel. Newsom, considered a top 2028 presidential contender, awarded nearly $200,000 to the Islamic Center of San Diego in March as part of a program to help religious institutions and nonprofits beef up security to protect against potential terrorist attacks, according to state records. Second only to President Donald Trump's historic first 100 days of his second term, from a newsworthy perspective, has been the voracity with which Democrat-nominated federal district judges have attempted — unconstitutionally so — to obstruct this president at every politically driven opportunity. On Thursday, Trump took the first step of his second term to right the federal district court system.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced his nomination of Whitney Hermandorfer to serve as a judge on the Cincinnati-based Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, which hears cases from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
For reasons that defy logic (but are easily explained as default emotional opposition), the Democrats and the press have been yoking themselves to figures in the deportation news cycles that are consistently problematic. In the furor to automatically oppose President Trump in any activity and policy, it is a baffling reality to see the insistence that deeply flawed, violent, and illegal individuals be allowed to remain in the U.S. And it has cast the media in a position of idiocy. The calls for violence are growing louder and louder by the day. The agitators are calling for the assassination of public figures and elected officials; they are calling for acts of insurrection by federal and local law enforcement.

Rowan & Martin's "Laugh-In" was regular viewing in my home, and I grew up watching the ebullient personality and quick wit of comedienne Ruth Buzzi. One of her main characters on the show was Gladys Ormphby, the spinster who used her handbag with effective accuracy. [Video] (Snip) On Friday, Buzzi's death was announced. After her long battle with Alzheimer's, the complications from the disease finally took their toll. Buzzi was 88 years old.

Like most of us, I suppose, the shock to our system and way of life during the government’s response to COVID-19 cannot easily be forgotten. It was our taste of ill-considered government tyranny, a public-health disaster. As more information about its origins and how the disease was handled is revealed, it always gets my attention. In sum, banking on helping defeat Trump, the public-health establishment and media suppressed more credible options for dealing with a disease which was not life-threatening to most in order to promote a vaccine then in the works. The vaccine when it was developed and administered was not terribly effective and has itself caused substantial injury.
Sometimes, Trump is just playin' around.
And when he does, the left has a cow -- and then he kicks back and enjoys it.
