A liberal Minnesota prosecutor receiving backlash for letting a Tesla vandal off easy is now pushing to reduce “racial disparities” in sentencing.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty’s office will consider a defendant’s “racial identity” when weighing potential plea deals starting Monday, KARE 11 reported. Moriarty drew criticism days earlier after declining to prosecute an employee in Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s administration who keyed six Tesla vehicles and caused more than $21,000 in damage.
“While racial identity and age are not appropriate grounds for departures [from the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines], proposed resolutions should consider the person charged as a whole person, including their racial identity and age,” a memo

We might be about to witness "the single biggest shot of adrenaline into U.S. manufacturing capacity since World War II," according to a new analysis of the defense supplementary bill working its way through the House.
On Friday, I gave readers a look at the elements involving national missile defense — President Donald Trump's "Golden Dome" — but there's so much more to it than that.
Aaron Slodov, analyst and creator of the REINDUSTRIALIZE summit, took a deeper look inside the $150 billion bill this weekend and found a lot to like.
More than 10% — $25 billion — is "aimed squarely at building things – new shipyard

California non-residents may now apply for a concealed carry permit, thanks to a court victory achieved by Gun Owners of America, the Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of California, and the California Rifle & Pistol Association.
On January 24, 2025, Breitbart News noted U.S District Judge Sherilyn Garnett’s order which opened the door for California non-resident members of GOA, SAF, GOC, and CRPA, to apply for concealed carry permits in the Golden State.
Garnett’s order made clear that members of the aforementioned organizations can apply as long as they “are not otherwise prohibited from possessing firearms under federal or California law.”
Moreover, the order explains:

Congress is debating whether a California law called Proposition 12 should dictate farming practices nationwide. What’s noteworthy is not only the law’s effect on national food prices but the identity of the organization puppeteering the campaign.
Most Americans would associate the group that led Proposition 12’s passage—and is lobbying against congressional action—with helping homeless cats and dogs, not advocating to restrict farming.
For years, the Humane Society of the United States—recently renamed Humane World of Animals—has run high-profile television commercials that tug on the heartstrings of America.
The spots often feature distressed cats and dogs in need of forever homes. The fundraising strategy has been a huge success, with the organization raising more

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) announced Monday that he will step out of the top Democratic seat on the powerful Oversight and Government Reform Committee, citing the return of the esophagus cancer he’s been battling since late last year.
Connolly said he will also be leaving Congress at the end of the term, his ninth serving Northern Virginia in the House.
“The sun is setting on my time in public service, and this will be my last term in Congress. I will be stepping back as Ranking Member of the Oversight Committee soon,” Connolly said in a statement addressing his constituents.

Exclusive: New York Attorney General Letitia James, who became President Donald Trump's nemesis after accusing him of mortgage fraud, is now battling the very same allegations, and her chief tormentor is a legendary scam artist who says he knows a crook when he sees one.
Sam Antar, who kept the books for his cousin, "Crazy Eddie" Antar, while he built a New York-area consumer electronics empire, helped his late relative skim cash and inflate the value of their company before leaving investors high and dry in the late 1980s. He says he knows every trick in the fraud book and smells a rat in James' real estate filings.

As billionaire Elon Musk scales back work for U.S. President Donald Trump, he’s laying the groundwork for a major role as a Republican political megadonor in next year’s midterm elections, according to four people with direct knowledge of the matter.
After announcing last week that his cost-cutting role at the White House was mainly done, Musk views his money and his social media platform X as potentially more powerful political tools than his time inside the government, when he became the face of Trump’s shake up of the federal bureaucracy, one of the people said.
The people said they expect Musk, the world’s richest person, to remain influential

Speaking on MSNBC over the weekend, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) railed against President Donald Trump and his administration, saying they were “trying to intimidate judges.”
Schumer spoke as the two discussed the case of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan, whom the Trump administration charged with two felonies for obstructing immigration agents. In mid-April, when immigration, DEA. and FBI agents came to apprehend Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, an illegal in Dugan’s courtroom to face domestic violence charges — and Dugan had been notified that there was an administrative warrant for the Flores-Ruiz’s arrest — “Judge Dugan then escorted

Foreign donors have given as much to U.S. universities in the last four years as they did in the previous 40, according to a new report by the Network Contagion Research Institute shared exclusively with The Free Press. The study shows an explosion in overseas funding for American schools between 2021 and 2024, with nearly $29 billion in foreign money donated during that period.
Qatar and China are among the largest sources of funding.
That $29 billion figure is more than double the total for the preceding four years, and accounts for half of the estimated $57.97 billion in foreign funding since 1986, when the federal government began tracking the data.

A federal grand jury has indicted seven foreign nationals — all illegal aliens — for a wide-ranging criminal conspiracy involving money laundering, drug trafficking proceeds, and illegal firearm possession.
The charges stem from a years-long operation allegedly run by Jose Malagon Castro, a Mexican national who brazenly operated three grocery stores in Kentucky as fronts for laundering dirty cartel cash, according to the Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Kentucky.
His employees—Yeimi, Kenia, and Kelin Hernandez Barahona (all Honduran nationals) and Suri Rosmeri Hernandez Del Cid (from Guatemala)—allegedly helped wire drug proceeds back to Mexico, fueling the cartels that profit off America’s open borders. According to the indictment,
