The top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee demanded answers from the Trump administration over potentially stranded American travelers once REAL ID requirements take effect May 7. [Snip] "Following the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, Congress passed, and then-President George W. Bush signed, the REAL ID Act of 2005,... [Snip] "The purpose of REAL ID is to make our identity documents more consistent and secure." [Snip] "...make identification harder to forge, thwarting criminals and terrorists. 81% of air travelers hold REAL ID-compliant or acceptable IDs. DHS will continue to collaborate with state, local, and airport authorities to inform the public, facilitate compliance, curb wait times and prevent fraud."

Comments:

* Elizabeth Elkind and Deirdre Heavey ~~~ Considering it is now 20 years after the REAL ID act was signed in 2005 raises the question of how or why travelers do not have or will not have a compliant ID by May 7, 2025. ~ “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today” (Abraham Lincoln) ~ “Harsh laws are at times better than no laws at all.” (Winston Churchill)

kind of odd isn't it. Americans need I.D. to fly but millions of illegal aliens are allowed to go wherever they want in our country without showing any I.D. plus it's racist to ask them who they are and where they're from.

These whiners have had about six years to get a compliant ID. In the state where I live, all drivers’ licenses are REAL ID; so, you could have gotten a new drivers’ license or a passport. The warnings have been posted at every airport since before COVID. Anybody that’s “stranded” has no one to blame but themselves.

People have 20+ years to get their Real IDs. Being the cowards that they are, Congress passed the bill but kicked the compliance can down the road any time someone whimpered about having to make any effort to actually comply with the law and being held responsible for making someone upset. It is simple to get and could have easily been completed when a person renewed their Driver's License. Now that the deadline will actually be enforced, Congress is once again squirming because someone somewhere who most likely will never fly complained that it is too hard for them to comply. Real ID is also required to enter federal buildings and military bases. Wait for the media to spotlight the cases of people denied entry to federal buildings. They will claim that Trump is a dictator denying people access to government buildings when it is Congress who made the rules (Trump is enforcing the laws).

In the opening three months of President Trump’s ambitious “flood the zone” second term, we have witnessed activist federal courts issue a tsunami of national injunctions against the executive branch. Rep. Bob Onder, R-Mo., recently described the third branch’s overzealous blocking of Trump’s executive orders as a “judicial coup d’etat.” [Snip] Over the Easter Weekend, a courage-deficient, seven-justice Supreme Court issued what dissenting Justice Samuel Alito described as a “middle of the night” ruling temporarily blocking the Trump administration from deporting Venezuelan illegal immigrants under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

In 2018, Eugenio Scalfari reported the words that Bergoglio supposedly confided to him about his vision of the afterlife: “Sinful souls are not punished: those who repent obtain God’s forgiveness and join the ranks of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, sinful souls simply disappear”. These heretical ravings are directly opposed to the Catholic Faith, which teaches us that there is a particular Judgment for everyone, which Bergoglio could not escape. His soul has therefore not disappeared, nor has it dissolved: he will have to account for the crimes he has committed,...
