Los Angeles has long been the “Entertainment Capital of the World” as the film and television stars congregate to the area to film the next big thing — but a new study shows that the region’s claim to that title could be in jeopardy. According to nonprofit FilmLA, which helps production companies book filming spaces and obtain permits, the occupancy rate of soundstages across the L.A. area was at 63% in 2024 — a dramatic drop off from 90% in 2022 and the mid 90s from pre-pandemic times. The 63% rate also represents a 6% drop from 2023, marking a

Demand has dropped steadily as the movies have become more and more left-wing mouthpieces. Add to that the insane cost of business imposed by the multiple unions who demand extra staff at all levels.

Mediocre movies for the most part, outrageous labor costs (including the "stars") and cost of living. It's why more and more entertainment is being filmed here in Georgia and other friendly states. You also have tax-paying citizens with the means to do so leaving the state. CA has a budget deficit of some 48 billion yet they still dream of their bullet train to nowhere and welcome illegals who suck up benefits. Take in the filthy streets and homeless on the sidewalks and these are the signs of a failing state but they will come to the rest of us to bail them out.

We as a family love going to "the movies." The popcorn, the candy, the big screen. We haven't been in about 6 months. Our local chain theatre which we like emailed me to say "hey, we haven't seen you in a while" so guiltily I looked at what they had in theatre or coming soon. NOTHING we as a family could or wanted to see on the big screen... not even anniversary or oldies. NOTHING. We have the Angel Studios app and that is good for everyday entertainment. Big Hollywood is just dead and as a kid who loved the old Hollywood, that makes me sad. Democrats destroy everything they touch.

Mark Wahlberg and others are trying to make Las Vegas the second Hollywood. It might succeed because NV is a lot cheaper in every way than CA. Wahlberg and his family have lived here a few years, he has his ads on Hallow, and he has made some great movies. He is not a Hollywood liberal.

It is almost amazing how going "liberal" is synonymous with economic death. They just can't sell it. In fact, it's becoming harder to even give it away. Liberalism has become something you stepped in that sticks to your shoe and smells bad.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) shot up in a poll that asked about the 2028 Democratic presidential primary after his recent record-breaking Senate speech. In the same poll last month, Booker drew 2 percent support among party respondents — putting him in line with roughly a dozen other Democratic figures with low single-digit support. Booker, who is serving in his second term, set a record for the longest Senate speech in history in early

Former CNN political analyst Chris Cillizza said Friday that Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett would be a disastrous presidential nominee for her party due to her far-left policies and tone. Crockett, a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, has risen to prominence with her incendiary anti-Republican rhetoric, including calling wheelchair-bound Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels.” Cillizza, during a YouTube livestream, said Crockett appeals primarily to activist Democrats but would struggle in a general election — likening her to Democratic New York Rep. It's a different vibe from the conspicuously bright blue suit he wore at the recent NATO summit, drawing criticism, but it shares some similarities to some of his other preferred flair, like flag-linings in his suits, patriotic socks, and a star-spangled pocket square.
