Mia is no longer with us at Townhall, but before she left for the Washington Examiner, she wrote a harrowing and tragic story about a fatal stabbing at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, last week: (X Video) 17-year-old Karmelo Sincere Anthony is accused of killing Austin Metcalf, 17, around 10 a.m. at the sporting event, a track-and-field championship involving several Dallas-area schools in Frisco, Texas. Metcalf, a junior at Memorial High School, was in the stands when he was fatally stabbed following an altercation over a seat.

Didn't we read a report from last week stating that the stabber had a 4.0 average? How does a perfect student get suspended? Oh, he wasn't a perfect student? Do tell. What racist mental defective tried to start a Go Fund me page for the killer? As an eleven- to thirteen-year-old grammar school student, I used to carry my Boy Scout knife, honed to a fine edge, to school daily. What were the chances that the knife would be used for evil? Zero. It wasn't for that purpose. Boy Scouts carry their knives. Grown up Boy Scouts carry guns. It's a safer world that way.

Lucky for this young person he will have his fate determined by 12 peers after the facts have been presented. And if he gets convicted and sentenced, he can expect to have many more people put their hands, unwanted, on his body. I bet he will be real popular in Huntsville.

IMO he went there looking for trouble. H knew he had no business sitting with the opposite team and he carried the knife with intent to use it. He is charged with First Degree murder, and IMO he is guilty. But that is up to the jury, but either way a person is dead because this clown wanted to make a disturbance.

Interesting to note that Karmelo had those ghetto worms trimmed from his head and is now sporting a suit and tie to improve his image. Too late, they are publishing his social media data. The propaganda push will continue and I can't wait to see how well they load the jury with his kind. 4.0 average my foot, if he was in the wrong seating area he probably can barely read.

It was murder. The murderer was not supposed to be at school, not supposed to be carrying a knife, and not supposed to be in that seat. When asked to move, the murderer stood up, pulled a knife, and murdered the student, who had every right to claim that seat.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Metcalf, who has forgiven the murderer of his son, stated that if Karmelo Sincere Anthony, presently in jail on one million dollars bond, is convicted of the murder, the father is not opposed to the death penalty. Even forgiven, the heartless killer, who was definitely looking for trouble at that track meet, still gets the punishment the law intends. That could, and probably should, be death. It was a wanton murder, not self defense. Although Texas school officials are trying to cover it up, Anthony was already in trouble for having brought a knife to school. He enjoys knives, perfect for the spur of the moment utterly senseless crime. Mrs. Metcalf, who has pointedly not forgiven the killer, is, same as her husband, all in favor of the Huntsville gurney, post conviction. May the Lord bless the Metcalf family. I cannot imagine what they're going through.

The 2024 presidential election is just five months in the rearview, but the country is already trudging toward the 2026 midterms — at least at the annual Pennsylvania Leadership Conference. In a straw poll of 267 conference participants from eight states, including Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania state Treasurer Stacy Garrity was the clear favorite to win the Republican primary for its 2026 gubernatorial election. She received 41% of the vote, as Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Penn., came in a distant second at 9%. While 2026 is still long down the road, and neither Pennsylvania politician has formally announced a run, both Republicans embraced the opportunity to tease their potential bids.

U.S. consumer prices fell in March, pushed down by a decline in the price of goods and defying predictions that President Trump’s tariff plans would push up prices. This was the first drop in consumer prices in nearly three years and only the second decline since inflation accelerated under Joe Biden to the worst rates in decades. The consumer price index fell by 0.1 percent compared with the previous month after climbing each month since July 2022. Economists had forecast prices would rise by 0.1 percent.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) revealed in a bombshell finding that millions of dollars in unemployment claims have been going to “fake people” who haven’t even been born yet — some not even in this century. DOGE claimed it reviewed an initial survey of unemployment claims since 2020 that found that 9,700 people whose birth dates aren’t for another 15 years have claimed $69 million in benefits. In one absurd case, a person whose birthday was listed in the year 2154 claimed $41,000, according to an X post by the department.

Not only did it do nothing to calm the nerves of jittery Democrats, but Biden made bizarre comments about how he would win because he got bigger crowds than Donald Trump (he didn't), and that he was distracted by Trump shouting at him

Rep. Emilia Sykes, a vulnerable Ohio Democrat, is seeking a fundraising boost from Rep. Sykes and Crockett formed a joint fundraising committee, the Crockett Sykes Victory Fund, on April 2, roughly two weeks after Crockett called Texas’s wheelchair-bound Greg Abbott (R.) The arrangement will allow Democrats to piggyback off each other’s shared fundraising efforts, potentially collecting larger checks as a result. Just 31 percent have a favorable view, but of those, only 10 percent have a “very” favorable view of Democrats. Most independents, 62 percent, also have an unfavorable view of Democrats in Congress.
