Parent of trans student wins key ruling
in lawsuit against California district
over disclosure

A federal appeals court reinstated a lawsuit against a Northern California school district by a mother who was not told that her 11-year-old child had identified as transgender. The court did not say whether the district had violated the mother’s rights, however, and instead set guidelines for the judge who had previously dismissed the suit. While the Supreme Court has upheld “the fundamental right of parents to make decisions concerning the care, custody, and control of their children,” that right “is not unlimited,” said the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The court told U.S. District Judge Mendez to determine whether rights claimed were “deeply rooted in this nation’s history"

Comments:

Government employees are trying to create a 'history and tradition" of disassociating children from their parents. Not unlike perverts hanging out in playgrounds.

FTA: But several months later, the child told the counselor that Regino should be told of the change in identity. When the counselor suggested speaking with other family members first, the child contacted her grandmother. She contacted Regino, who told her child she would support her transition and arranged counseling, the court said. But Regino also contacted the school to complain that she had not been notified. She filed suit in 2023 challenging the district’s policy. Meanwhile, the court said, her daughter’s “feelings about being a boy subsided,” though she remained in counseling for depression and anxiety. Severql months after the girl said her mother would be angered to find out, the girl changed her mind and told her mother via her grandmother. Wise mother did not go ballistic, but arranged for counsling. Sub sequently the girl changed her mind about the identity chqe. The counseling continues. My two bits say this young girl, who was having not unusual symptoms as she headed into puberty, will not ever be "transitioning". Wise mother. I hope she wins a bundle. Meanwhile she has brought aand won a suit that has made miportant case law. Too bad there aren't more mothers like this.

How exactly does an 11 year old ‘identify’’ as transsexual? My kids are in their 40s but I am curious.

Re #4, she didn;t. She said she felt like a boy. Decuded to "try it on". The adults (teachers, media, etc.) go witn the trans words. The mother obviously didn't buy any of it. She had once been an 11-year-old girl. She appears to have handled her daughter very well. Getting angry at her daughter would not have been smart.

Europe braces for flood of Chinese goods
after US tariffs

A flood of discounted Chinese imports is set to compound the economic dangers to Europe from Donald Trump’s tariffs, analysts warn, prompting Brussels to prepare measures to protect itself from a wave of cheap goods from Asia. The direct impact of the US president’s 20 per cent levy on EU products has sparked fears about the outlook for the bloc’s embattled manufacturers, who are already reeling from US levies on cars and steel. But the severity of Trump’s tariffs on economies such as China and Vietnam means Brussels is now on alert for an influx of Asian products such as electrical goods and machine appliances being diverted into its own markets.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is already collecting over $200 million per day in extra revenue as it enforces a massive new wave of tariffs under President Donald Trump's "Liberation Day" plan. "CBP has successfully implemented 13 tariff-related presidential actions during this Administration," a CBP spokesperson said in a statement to FOX Business. "Serving on America’s frontline, CBP strictly enforces all laws and Presidential directives to secure our economic sovereignty." Using powers under the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 and the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), the Trump administration is targeting goods from dozens of countries, including China.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday said that he is taking actions to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders and to restrict any further issuance to prevent entry into the United States. The reason for the move is the failure of South Sudan's transitional government to accept the return of its repatriated citizens in a timely manner, Rubio said on social media. "I am taking actions to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders and to restrict any further issuance to prevent entry into the United States, effective immediately, due to the failure of South Sudan's transitional government to accept the return.."

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on Friday announced it would redirect $895 million from a woke infrastructure program to aid disaster relief, Breitbart News has learned exclusively. “The BRIC program was yet another example of a wasteful and ineffective FEMA program. It was more concerned with political agendas than helping Americans effected by natural disasters. The BRIC program was created as part of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, otherwise known as the so-called infrastructure bill, which is known to have many leftist carveouts.

California Governor Gavin Newsom said he has directed his administration to "look at new opportunities to expand trade" as he tries to steer his state around President Donald Trump's sprawling import tariffs. In a post on X, Newsom addressed the U.S.'s global trading partners, writing "California is here and ready to talk." It comes after a Fox News report revealed that Newsom is directing his state to pursue "strategic" relationships with countries announcing retaliatory tariffs against the U.S., urging them to exclude California-made products from those taxes.

Iran has ordered its military personnel to leave Yemen amidst the ongoing US bombing campaign in the country, The Telegraph reported on April 3. The newspaper’s source added that regime officials’ concerns over the Trump administration have eclipsed discussions on Tehran’s regional proxies, dominating every meeting and sidelining previous strategic priorities. The move is part of a broader pattern of the Islamic Republic recalibrating its regional strategy in response to the Trump administration’s efforts to curtail Tehran’s influence in the Middle East and threats to potentially strike Iran’s nuclear sites.

In court filings, federal officials said Tuesday that a federal judge in Massachusetts does not have jurisdiction to decide whether Rümeysa Öztürk was illegally detained by ICE agents last week. This, according to the Justice Department, is because Öztürk was not in Massachusetts when a legal challenge was filed against the federal government. Öztürk, a Turkish PhD student at Tufts University, was arrested by plainclothes federal agents on a Somerville sidewalk last week. She was swiftly moved to a detention center in Louisiana. The Trump administration revoked her visa, apparently because she “engaged in activities in support of Hamas.” Federal prosecutors (snip) argued that the case belongs in immigration court.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s government has prepared a strategy to cope with reciprocal tariffs scheduled to be announced by President Donald Trump on Wednesday, Vuttikrai Leewiraphan, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, told a briefing in Bangkok. Thailand will adopt a “holistic approach” to trade negotiations to minimize the impact on its economy, he said. Thailand’s trade surplus with the US totaled $45 billion last year,

The Supreme Court ordered a federal appeals court Monday to decide if nonviolent felons should be allowed to own guns in light of a Second Amendment ruling from the high court last year. The justices granted a petition from Raheem Morrissette, a convicted felon who contends he retains the right to bear arms because his crimes were not violent, but declined to take on the case themselves. Instead, they vacated the 11th Circuit's judgement upholding Morrissette's conviction for possessing a firearm as a felon and asked that it reconsider under the high court's decision to uphold a federal law prohibiting people under domestic violence restraining orders from owning guns.

Imagine the following scenario: A pregnant woman goes into labor while passing your property and, in distress, stumbles onto your lawn. You take notice, offer aid, and EMT arrives and, with time short, she gives birth on the scene. Mother and baby turn out safe and healthy, though, and all’s well that ends well, right? Except for one thing. You’re then told that because the infant was born on your land, he’s now a member of your household. Ridiculous, I know. But, of course, this is analogous to the situation in the United States under our “birthright citizenship” standard, supposedly based on the 14th Amendment.
