The attorney for Karmelo Anthony, the 17-year-old accused of murdering football star Austin Metcalf at a Texas track meet, insists he doesn’t have “any reason” to think the killing “wasn’t in self defense” — and will request the teen’s bond be lowered from $1,000,000.[snip]
he was charged with fatally stabbing Metcalf, also 17, and leaving him to die in his twin brother’s arms during the athletic event in Frisco Wednesday morning.
After briefly meeting with the teenager for the first time on Friday afternoon, Anthony’s attorney Deric Walpole told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth that at this point in time he believes his client acted in self defense

Anti-white hate crime. Anyone who brings a knife to a track meet is looking for trouble and ready to make it.

What will the witnesses say who were all from the same school as the victim? It is becoming more and more clearer that the constant violent over reactions of Black people to what should end as minor incidents, no matter if the perpetrator is involved with other Black people or people of other races, is a big time cultural thing!

If he didn't like being touched, he should have 'touched' him back with his fist. Instead he grabbed a knife in his bag, who knows why he had one, and killed the boy. The victim was unarmed. Anthony is right where he needs to be and hopefully will end up in prison.

Clearly not self defense. But it's his job as the defense lawyer to say silly things like that for his client.
Good luck with that.

The bioy who was packing a knife inhis bag was sitting in the dead boy's team's shelter. He did ot belong there. When Metcalf asked him to leave he said "touch e ande watdh what happens"...
FTA: Anthony’s stepmother, Kala Hayes, told The Post Saturday that the family had hired a PR team but declined to comment further./i>

You gotta love that defense lawyer's slick use of the double-negative when he said he "DOESN'T have any reason" to believe the killing "WASN'T in self-defense" which is his way of saying 'I have no facts, let's see how bull**** works on this judge."

Bringing a weapon (knife) to a school function like a track meet is a crime in Texas. And in my mind, proof of intent to commit a crime.

Lawyers are supposed to say their clients are innocent.
Even when they know better.
I don't believe the kid meant to kill this boy, but he meant to cut him that's for sure in my mind.
I believe he will be found guilty probably of 2nd. degree and will serve less that 5 years.l

As Bill Cosby once said when appalled by black violence...."C'mon people"
Honest, decent blacks are angry and humiliated by the actions of their feral "brothers".

One wouldn't expect a defense attorney to say, "Yeah, you're right. He did it. He's guilty." Just because the young murderer is constitutionally entitled to a defense doesn't mean that those of us on the outside must respect this obvious BS. Calling this wanton murder "self defense" ought to enrage jurors of all races at the trial. Yes, we heard that Karmelo was a good student who had a clean criminal record before he stabbed Austin Metcalf to death. Just a few seconds of senseless rage has ruined a lot of lives, including his own. Who taught him that rage? His father? He committed a brutal murder and will surely be found guilty. First degree murder should bring no better than life without parole. He should never be free again. Since he committed this murder in Texas, he might be facing the death penalty. All it takes is an evil enough crime. This one was that evil. Deric Walpole can attend his client's execution in a decade or so.

I recommend Thomas Sowell's book, Black Rednecks and White Liberals. The rapid escalation of violence seen in this case is cited by Dr Sowell as part of the culture. It is not "race".

To paraphrase The Won: "If they bring nothing, we bring a knife..."
Can you imagine (another recent Hussein-ism) if a white President had intoned, "If they bring a knife, we bring a gun."?

I don't take issue with what the lawyer said. Lawyers know there are times to concede the point. All he said was he thought his client meant to cut the poor boy, he's not giving anything away. The killer has already confessed. To do otherwise is to expect the lawyer to say it's nighttime when it's noon. The fight is going to be over his client's claim of selfdefense. Which we can see is an argument built on sand. However, as we have seen, the juries can sometimes come up with off the wall determinations. The facts that are missing include whether the killer has any record. The lawyer is looking for a 2nd and a nickel.
