The Uniparty is determined to severely undermine President Trump’s efforts to rebalance trade agreements worldwide and bring back millions of jobs from overseas.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the implementation of a 10% baseline tariff on all imports, effective April 5, 2025. The worst offenders will be hit with even tougher measures on April 9.
Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, President Trump proclaimed April 2 as “Liberation Day,” marking a new era of economic independence. He emphasized that this measure is essential to protect American jobs and revitalize domestic manufacturing.

What a pointless waste of time. Don't they realize Pres. Trump will veto?
It is past time for congress to get moving to codify Pres. Trump's Exec. Orders. Get moving or get thrown out!

Another indication that the DC political uni-party is loaded with a lot of wimpy congressional Republican RINOS! If the State Republican Parties have any guts at all, they should arrange to primary out those RINOS and replace them with MAGA supporting Republican candidates.

Grassly better remember just what give Trump his authority. Whether over reaching judges or arrogant legislators, if you step on Constitutionally protected actions you just might run into treason charges.

FTA: "Should “The Trade Review Act of 2025” ever become law, it would mark one of the most significant transfers of power from one branch of government to another in recent memory."
Nonsense. President Trump has no constitutional authority to impose tariffs. The Constitution gives tax and tariff authority to Congress. Congress has delegated some of that power over time to allow presidents to conduct trade negotiations. And they granted a narrow authority that allows presidents to raise tariffs in response to national security emergencies.
President Trump is using that narrow authority to impose protectionist tariffs on the entire world. When these executive orders are challenged in court, President Trump will likely lose. In
Meanwhile, Congress can act to rescind that delegated authority. One or both of these will likely happen before the long term structural benefits of President Trump 's policy--i.e. massive relocation of production back to the U.S. can happen.
In the meantime--and it will be a very mean time--permanent damage to U.S. exporters and American brands will have already happened.

Trump will veto any bill that gets passed, and the odds of passing are near zero.

Political posturing. Trump will simply veto any such legislation. When going gets tuff, expect the wimps to fold. Their financial supporters don’t want their stock portfolios impacted, they want tariff status quo. Notwithstanding America has mortgaged its grandchildren’s future.

I LOVE it. First President Trump flipped the corruption/theft rock with DOGE and the guilty started screaming and turning out their rent a mob. Now, demanding actual free trade with balanced tariffs is turning out the globalists who have reaped trillions while the USA manufacturing base was destroyed. The globalists can't go to their bought and paid for union bosses, because the rank and file are all in for President Trump on this one.
Contrary to a previous poster who thinks they know everything about the future, countries are lining up to renegotiate better trade deals with the US. More will follow and meanwhile Billions are being invested inside the US, because of Trump. NOT a corrupt, pathetic congress, because of one man, Trump.
First the uniparty is demanding extra protection for ILLEGALS, now they whine about their globalist bosses taking a hit. Keep it up, morons.

Sen. Chuck Grassley should ask Treasury Secretary Scott Bassent to explain this to him. The country imposing the higher tariff loses more when tariffs are equalized. The sensible thing to do is reduce or eliminate tariffs. Then, in the long term both countries profit.
