A group of Republican senators voted along with Democrats on Wednesday for a resolution to undo President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on Canadian imports, dealing an embarrassing blow to Trump.
The resolution expresses the sense of the Senate and doesn’t have the force of law, but its 51-48 passage is unwelcome news for the president on the very day he announced a host of new tariffs.
Four Republicans — Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitch McConnell (Ky.) — voted for the measure.
They voted to express their disapproval of Trump’s tariffs on Canada

"The resolution expresses the sense of the Senate and doesn’t have the force of law" in order to have "Force of Law, or even the force of "Tradition" it will have to garner 60+ votes, in the same timeframe, same day, both Canada and Mexico blinked and offered to drop ALL Tariffs, several other countries in other parts of the world have as well....These idjits cannot see that Trump's "Negotiating" approach is a yuuuuuge win already, and they are loudly proving they are losers.

It's a resolution. It's pure virtue signaling and has no force to change the tarries.
I'm generally opposed to tariffs, but willing to go along with Trump. If they work, great. If not, he can roll them back with a stroke of the pen.

Supposed Republicans like those four wimpy Republican Senators should have MAGA primary challengers at the first opportunity.

Stupid idiots. Even though there's no force, it sends a stupid message and makes it seem like the flaming idiots on the other side have a case. Dumb idiots.

Once again the usual suspects. Four people who are selling out the Trump voters.
This is not the voice of the Senate, this is the voice of democrats and traitorous republicans.

First of all, they are not republicans. One is a libertarian, two are unabashed democrats and McConnell is an UBER RINO dinosaur. They all know he will get to keep the tariffs in place. They just wanted to stick their finger in Trumps eye because we all know they have TDS.

These 4 Republicans need to be put in the back, kicked off committees, and not receive any RNC money for re-election.

There is NO HOPE for the United States of America when the GOP cannot get the "e" in line. These are traitors, just under the level of Joe Biden, but dedicated to the destruction of the United States nonetheless, mainly because they really dislike the president, oh...and because their spiffs have been cut off by DOGE.

Trump was getting what he wanted with other countries dropping their tariffs on US made goods. Yet these 4 "Republicans" thought they needed to give CNN, MSNBC, the NYT, and other liberal Trump hating media something other than Trump's success to talk about. Thanks so called principled Republican Senators.

What now, are they going to write Trump a letter? Sole purpose is so the fake media can report it as if it means something.

Rand Paul has made a post on twitter, explaining why he believes tariffs are a bad thing. So because Rand Paul does not like them, and even though Rand Paul was not elected as POTUS, like those on the left, he has decided that he must put a stop to tariffs. What an arrogant a*s.

I have a lot of respect for Rand Paul- just disagree with him on this, but the rest of them are scum. They deserve a well funded primary challenge and removal from any committee leadership.

Isn't Susan Collins up for reelection next year? If so, Trump needs to primary her. Use her as an example.

Republicans control the Senate, so how did this even come to a vote? If the roles were reversed Democrats would have never let this get anywhere near the floor. How do we get such weak leadership?
